Don’t put him in any high leverage situations anytime soon. But he needs to figure it out if we have any hope of making a deep postseason run. He’s super talented and could be a huge part of the pitching staff if he starts pitching like he did down the stretch last year.

That is the problem...he was actually trying. The kid just doesn't have college baseball skills. He needs to find another sport or do good in school.

Let him pitch midweek games. Either start or come in in long relief. Lesser quality hitters, less pressure.

I think Hurd's issues are more than just mental (while not discounting same in any way, shape or form). There is also a mechanical element involved.
Rantz made a good point on the broadcast that when Hurd drives through the pitch he is more accurate, but when he is trying to pitch away to righties he is falling off to his left side which is pulling the pitch wider outside or to the left,. Rewatched Hurd's pitches closely after Rantz's comment and he hit the nail on the head.
