What about 2019?

Rosenthal, Ingram, Hines, Deculus, Marshall, McMath, Curry, Davis-Price, Emery

all played last year (and not just in garbage time either).
all played Saturday.

that’s just on offense.

Farrell, Ika, Clark, Flott, Ward, Stevens, Harris, Hampton all got playing time last year too.

Punter and Kicker is same duo from last year as well.

let’s not act like this entire roster never stepped foot on a field before this past weekend.

The constant with both of the QBs is Ensminger calling plays.

Ensminger called more than half the plays in the greatest offensive season in the history of history.

In 2018, Burrow played under E's terrible offense.

And Burrow was only with the team a few months, not 4 years.

Also the leading receiver in 2018 was Justin Jefferson with 875 and Stephon Sullivan was 2nd with 311 yards, that offense was no where near the offense Brennan played on Saturday

Same OC calling the plays. And btw how many QBs at LSU have thrown for 350 in their first start besides Brennan? Zero that’s how many, the defense lost that game period.

46 throws and he might be calling the plays but it definitely it’s the same scheme, we’re playing the scheme Brennan has played with since high school,

Burrow was new to the offense, new to the personnel and has far less experienced WRs than Brennan had yesterday.
If you can’t see the difference in the two QBs’ first games, maybe you should watch soccer.
Nobody could rightly say they saw Heisman in Burrow’s first game, but given his lack of familiarity with program, personnel, coaches, you could tell he was going to be very competent.
There wasn’t much competence displayed by Brennen in his first start, despite 46 opportunities with a lot of NFL talent wide open on the field.

Once you accept the fact that the majority of posters here are kind of dumb and dont have a realistic outlook of how football and coaching works then it becomes a lot easier not to dwell over what people say here.

No, I think Burrow definitely developed as a player and worked on getting the ball out quicker as a priority. Brennan doesn't have the Moxy Joe has but maybe that is fine, I haven't given up on him yet personally.

Quite a list.

But you forgot the most important one - Brennan played poorly.

let's not pretend that his struggles this game are comparable to Burrow's.

Burrow is having a great first year with the Bengals.
Would LSU fans be happy with an 0-3 start.

Who believes he would have had the same results as 2019, at LSU, without the players on defense or offense that are gone.
Take away Helaire, Jefferson, Chase, Moss, the Offensive Linemen and that Championship would not happen. Take away Jefferson and Helaire, and the Texas and Alabama wins would have been in jeopardy.

Even with good players it takes some time to build a "team".
Take away Stingly and what would you have had.

We had posters last year saying MB should get more of a shot to be our Qb also

We had posters saying O was the worst hire of all time and would never win a championship of any kind at LSU

We have a lot of stupid posters

Because the scheme dictated it with slow developing 2 receiver routes with an O line that couldn't pass block somehow.

And the O Line did so well on Saturday......While running for his life Brennan had basically the same completion percentage as Costello, both had 2 INTs (one of Brennan's came on a hail Mary at the end of the game, the other was due to the protection, his arm was hit as he threw) and passed for 300+. While he has been in the system longer than Burrow was, he has not started or had significant playing time until Saturday. Give the kid a break. Go back and count the number of drops (Half a dozen at least), and look out blocks and reassess where the brunt of the blame belongs.

Put Burrow in his first SEC start with the same protection and I tend to believe you would have the same result.

The same NFL talent that had a minimum of half a dozen drops or maybe the NFL talent that allowed 7 sacks and had Brennan running for his life. Your username fits you......

Calm down homer........ Brennan did not great. But it was about what I expected for being his first start and whole game. The defense was horrible. My fear is what we saw of Myles the best he could be???? Cause if so we are in trouble.

Your opinion is wrong
The way you worded that is funny. My point isn't that I'm basing Brennan's performance off his stats, but that people are freaking out about MB's play significantly more than they would if the defense plays well and we give up 14 instead of 44. Burrow's issues were easier to look past because our defense was lights out. It also puts significantly more pressure on Brennan to have to score every drive when the defense gives up score after score. especially in his first start. I hate to be the excuses guy, but I just think this first game from Brennan is going to be an outlier by the end of the season in terms of how he looks.

Mainly talking about the guys brennan has been practicing with and most of the guys you talked about was not spending every minute with brennan trying to work on timing bc they were trying to work with burrow...

Clock struck midnight and burrow was gone, brennan ready to start working with his team and bam covid and they send everyone home...

Not the same thing man and there isn't a real solid previous relationship bc he was the 2nd stringer. I imagine he had a better relationship with boutte, McMath etc..
