Where are all of these people supposedly blaming Brennan and not the defense for the loss?

I’d estimate 50 threads or so since Saturday full of posters blaming him. There are a couple still on the first page running with about 80-90% of the posters of that opinion.

Almost everyone here is bitching about Myles Brennan losing the game for us, having too many passing attempts, holding the ball too long, etc. but I barely see anyone bitching about the defense and o line.

Defense and o line lost this game for LSU. Not Myles Brennan. Myles is a good quarterback but even Joe fricking Burrow would've struggled yesterday with that o line. And don't get me started on the utter disappointment the defense was.

In Burrow’s first 3 years at Ohio State, he received superior QB coaching than Brennan at LSU

bullshite. The defense has gotten the blame, but we can still says Brennan was disappointing.

Not even close. Burrow is so fast at making progressions and getting the ball out that he would have had 500+ yards and 5 or 6 TDs. Hell, on Brennan's first int, that's a TD all day if he throws it a half second earlier. Burrow would make that throw 99 of 100. Just that play would have put him at or above 400 yards and with the momentum we likely win. Not to mention Burrow's scrambling ability. The offensive line wasn't great but they allowed Brennan as much or more time than any other SEC team last week. He often ran out of a clean pocket and into pressure instead of just stepping up. His pocket awareness should only get better. Brennan had open receivers over and over but didn't see them. All that said, I'm not giving up on Brennan. He will get more comfortable and if he gets the ball out a second earlier he'll be fine. Burrow would have had a field day on Saturday though.

He also got rid of the ball faster than any other SEC QB this weekend and had to bail because the middle of the pocket was being pushed into his feet. He wasn’t great but he wasn’t bad either. For a 1st start he was fine, giving up 600 yards is what cost is the game.

I'm not blaming him for the loss. My main point is disputing that Burrow would have struggles on Saturday. Burrow would have absolutely balled out if you only replace him with Brennan. Burrow is the best college QB of all time. Brennan will improve a lot. I'd bet that Brennan by game 5 would have balled out too. He was just too slow making decisions and getting the ball to open receivers in his first start.

Not seeing the field in the first half, not pulling the trigger ,but better ,in the 2nd half. Brennan should settle in. Out of his 8 sacks I've got 6 on brennan.

Burrow would have hit those open recievers behind his line in cinci lol that's worse in comparison to other nfl teams.
Hes not burrow but he can be great if he would step up in the pocket and feel the rush not stare it down

Second half was avg to slightly above avg compared to the other 100 or so starting qbs in the country saturday .

Defense is in a scary situation right now. Hope pelini will try zone for a play or two for however long hes here

From game one we and all the announcers were praising Burrow for his ability to read a defense. Even though he didn’t have any TD passes he absolutely commanded the position. It was highly evident.

Yes, we were.

Burrow looked in command in his first start against a superior D in a much bigger matchup.

either, but in my opinion the biggest difference is that Brennan's defense gave up 623 passing yards and 4 points, so everything he does poorly is now magnified.

Your opinion is wrong, because those stats are all irrelevant to Brennan’s command of the team. Of course IMO.

It’s truly ridiculous to judge play based off stats. The defense made stops early on and we could not extend drives for anything. We were gifted 4 turnovers and had multiple attempts.

I remember after the Miami game I posted that he was destined to win the Heisman, bring us a NC, and get drafted first.

Many of us felt this way. I could see first round selection. Not necessarily early round. I was somewhat concerned he would enter the draft after just one season here.

old trusted Powerman post:

And I'll probably get blasted for saying this but it looks like he has the pocket awareness of Jordan Jefferson

To not see the pressure when it's coming from the right side is troubling. This happened multiple times against SELU and was reminiscent of JJ

he went from JJ to GOAT in one season...

there is hope for MB
