Yeah dude is listed at 5’11” 220. If he can keep his speed at that weight that’d be pretty impressive

I'm one of those who believe that LSU's offensive line will be very significantly improved in 2022 and the deepest it has been in over ten years.

I also believe that Garrett Nussmeier will be named the starter at QB because by all accounts he not only threw far less picks in the 15 spring practices relative to the other two QBs, but he is the only QB on the team with the elite arm talent necessary to get the ball to LSU's lethal weapons out in space reliably, and he is also very excellent at extending plays. As he doesn't take off running like Jayden Daniels automatically does and he doesn't freeze and panic under pressure like Myles Brennan always does. Instead, he scrambles out of trouble while always keeping his eyes down field and then tries to complete passes or otherwise throw the ball away if he has to.

Moreover, I've heard BJ Ojulari claim in interviews that he believes John Emery will be LSU's best player on offense in 2022. While I also heard Mike Jones, Jr say in interviews that he has played against a lot of great running backs in his career, but that he has never played against a running back nearly as good as John Emery.

So my optimism is very high that John Emery will be a major cog in LSU's balanced offensive attack in 2022 and for which I have high hopes.

All contingent on the o-line performance, if the O-line is decent then I would agree with you.

Why does everyone seem to forget how great of a year Brennan was having before his injury? Also, Brennan has just as good or better arm talent then Nussmier with a lot more game time experience.

the differentiator is not the arm strength. IMHO it is the fact that Brennan is not going to have to be a typical student. he can live football. that preparation time is the differentiator.

But i have been wrong about way more important things before.

Emery has always had the talent. He needs to stay healthy and put in the work. Hoping he can improve his ability to pick up the blitz. Running the ball is natural for him. He has to learn the intricacies of being a complete running back.

Based on everything we're hearing, he's putting in the work. Hope it clicks.

Maybe losing to a piss poor Moo State team while constantly embarrassing himself in the process because he was continually panicking the entire game is great for you, but excuse me because I find it to be very pathetic.

Not to mention that losing to a Mizzou team with over half its starting defense sidelined due to Covid protocols in a game where Brennan couldn't convert a third or fourth down even if his life depended on it and in a game where Brennan had a first and goal to goal from the one yard line with the game on the line and still, he could not make a play to get the ball into the end zone for the win, is again utterly pathetic. Furthermore, that was against a Mizzou team with over half its starting defense sidelined due to Covid protocols.

Moreover, what Brennan did in 2020 is completely irrelevant just like what Daniels did at Arizona State is also completely irrelevant because Brian Kelly held a QB competition in the 15 spring practices and in the spring game and guess what? By all accounts, Garrett Nussmeier was easily the best and most consistent QB in all 15 of those spring passes. While also throwing far less picks relative to the other two QBs Nussmeier is competing against.

A lot more game time experience relative to Nussmeier? What are you smoking? Brennan started just three games in his exceedingly mediocre career and lost two of the three games he started against some of the worse competition LSU has faced in probably several decades.

Moreover, it was Garrett Nussmeier who threw several next level NFL passes in the spring game that Brennan and Daniels can only dream of throwing in their wildest wet dreams.

Man, I’m all for Emery doing well, but I want to see Goodwin get some snaps. I have a feeling that kid is the next Guice (in the good ways, not the bad.)

Sounds like you watch a lot of LSU football. I'm not sure you understand what you are watching, though. No offense (and by offense, I don't mean where the Oline plays. I mean offense as offend.)

I'm expected 1200+ rush yards 200+ receiving and 15 total TDs. I'm expecting him to get the ball a lot and with his speed, make some big plays.

Arm talent doesn't matter if you can't escape a pass rush and are laying on the ground.

Brossette got 1k and 14 TDs. Davis Price got 1k and 6 tds.
