I actually see no issue with a player once he gives up on playing pro baseball being able to go back to college and playing baseball there if he never played an inning of college baseball. Lets face it if he is no longer in pro ball that means he pretty much sucked and there is zero chance he will ever go back to pro ball.

Hopefully he gets a chance. He loves LSU. Maineri was one of the reasons he didnt play baseball for LSU and you cant hold that against him.

I doubt it. We are horrendously bad at utilizing tight ends. We are the opposite of Drew Brees and the Saints when it comes to that.

How do we know that Mainieri is the reason he didn't play at LSU? He signed with us and then got drafted somewhat high in the MLB draft.

How many Qb related posts will we get until people realize that he's a tight end? Lol
My bad. Just sounds like a QB.

Maybe not this year, but there's no reason to believe he can't eventually contribute. No one forecast playing time for J.D. Moore when he walked on.

No. Even the true backups only get experience handing the ball off, if at all, late in games.

I think you are mistaken. He is a TE. Got some time in Spring Game and actually caught a pass in it. Might get some ST play if lucky. He is only a freshman so they wont rush him unless he is really that good. Dude is 24 going on 25 so he might get in.
