What are the chances that the field at Tiger Stadium is eventually named after Les Miles?

I would be for it. His tenure was the most successful in LSU football history, regardless of how things ended. He was national champion once, national runner up once, SEC champion twice, SEC West Champion 3 times, second most wins in school history, highest winning percentage in program history, most seasons with 10 wins or more (7). I hope it happens.
If not the field, then I’m guessing that something else on campus will eventually be named after him.

I doubt this will ever happen but surly there’ll be a statue of him bending over picking grass to eat.

Largely depends on how O’s tenure goes.
If we remain competitive, averaging over 10 wins a year for over a decade, winning the West a few times and at least an SEC title, it would make the position Miles holds now as the most successful coach in our programs history less monumental.
But if O flames out or putts along winning 8 or 9 games a year without ever winning the SEC, it would make what Miles did seem even more impressive.
If we go another few years without raising a banner many will start to refer to those days as the glory days that don’t already and the idea of something like that may become more likely.

Thats not setting the bar very high. How about we wait until LSU gets an actual head coach before we retroactively judge Less Smiles career?

Tiger Stadium will always be Tiger Stadium, but Les will have a statue, building, street or something before it’s all said and done.

Am I the only one that doesn't like naming stadiums after coaches? Tiger Stadium/Death Valley is iconic. It's like the Big House or the Horseshoe, it's part of CFB lore. You wanna build a new athletic facility or practice field or something, sure name that after him. But not the actual stadium
