Let's go with scenario 1. Pretty sure I've heard of scenario 2...something like "a snowball's chance in hell."

Woody seems to be a good AD aside from the contracts. He has given out some fricking absurd contracts
There should be language in these contracts citing some sort of success in the arena each coach is involved with. I actually like CMM. But to owe a coach $10mill even if he goes winless in the SEC year 3 is ridiculous.

We’re paying a WBB coach and staff to lose 7.1 million a year. MBB does turn a profit.

Why does it always have to be next year, well if he has a bad year this year then he will get one more year and if he doesn't go to the tournament next year then he will be shown the door. Frick it if he doesn't make the tournament this year kick his arse to the curb and move on and go get someone who can coach and win, enough is enough his buyout might be steep but you can't keep playing in front of 50 fans when the SEC. Has turned into a top notch basketball conference!

He definitely has another year. Things are not as bad as this board makes them out to be plus the rest of the sports are doing well.

If he only wins like 3 SEC games this year I think you have to do it

Woodward has spent a lot of money. A LOT.
Gotta be frugal somewhere, and I'm guessing men's basketball gets the short straw. He'll stick with McMahon till the bitter, cheap end.

Would love to hear how things are "not as bad" as we are making it out to be. Under Mcmahon we are 11-27 in the SEC (the worst in the conference since he started), 3-17 on the road in the SEC (worst in the conference since he started), and 8-35 as underdogs (the second worst record as an underdog in the conference since he has taken over). That last stat especially proves that mcmahon is not able to punch up which is necessary if you are going to break through and elevate the program. If we are not head and shoulders better than the team we are facing or are evenly matched with our opponent, Mcmahon simply cannot find a way to win

Because his teams are getting better every year. This year's team is better than last years and last years was better than the year before. Plus he's recruiting very well.

I would disagree that this team is better than last years. I personally believe that last years team was slightly better despite having less talented players. But for the sake of this argument lets pretend that we are improved this year. If we are improved, it is extremely marginal. Why should we continue to accept marginal improvement when teams that changed coaches at the same time or after us are making improvements leaps and bounds above what we are with similar or less resources.

I have and Im sorry hes not going to get fired after this year for reasons I stated above. If I was the AD I would go get Will Wade but Im not so.

Its still early. By the end of the year this team will be MUCH better than last year's team. The results will probably be the same but Woodward will be looking at it differently than the common fan. As long the trajectory is trending up Mcmahon is staying.

Genuine question. What about this team makes you so confident that this will be the case?
Eta: I also understand that it is still early. But we have currently played three quad 1 teams and lost by double digits in all three of them. Add in an 8 point home loss against a Quad 2 conference opponent. What about that gives the indication that we are improving?
