He looked great at the beginning of the year. How likely is it that his injury will be career ending?

No reason to assume he wouldn't return

Brennan is no Max. He doesn't have the mobility. He doesn't have the muscles and toughness of Max. Most importantly he doesn't have the quick intelligence and decision making ability of Max, only Burrow did. In my mind Max is a left handed Joe Burrow in a couple of years.

You're right, he's not. He only has way better accuracy in intermediate/deep balls, reads defenses better, and is a better pure pocket passer. You're crazy if you think he doesn't give you the best chance to win games. Max will be good but he's nowhere near Brennan's level right now. You caught a sampling from him on a sleeping Florida team and a defense worse than LSU's.

He ran out on the field with the team at the beginning of the game. I recall there was some discussion of whether he had a hip joint or hip muscle injury. Unlike some here I'm not a doctor, but I'd guess he wouldn't be jogging if it was a joint injury, and that seems positive.

I don’t see how anyone wound not be very happy with Myles as QB1 next year. He was not the reason we were losing games and he was putting up numbers that we all dreamed of before Burrow.

That said, Max looked really good for a true freshman and we should all be comfortable with him at the helm of it works out that way

I’d love to see Myles return and have a full open QB competition in the spring and summer. Whoever comes out on top will be good enough to win with...but maybe not good enough to overcome the coaching staff.

Pure speculation on my part is it healed slower than they thought but not enough to keep him out the entire year. They probably mostly did that for precautionary reasons in a meaningless year to protect him. Several players out yesterday could've played but the staff held them out intentionally which was the right move.

Are you high? Brennan was so much better than any other QB we’ve started this year

Brennan is definitely more accurate (especially on long balls), but Florida's scoring defense finished 61st compared to LSU's at 96th, so that's not accurate. And to be fair, you also saw Max Johnson playing and winning games without all of his top offensive threats at WR, TE and RB.

Right. He had the best opening games for a new starter in school history and it’s not even close. He threw 11 TDs in 3 games. Joe Burrow threw 16 his entire first season as a starter. Brennan was one of the top QBs in the nation when he got hurt.

Brennan will be (is) a dominant collegiate QB. It’s actually shocking how many fans are so quick to move on to the next guy.

It is pretty amazing isn’t it.

Just wait till next year if Myles is the starter. The hate he gets in this board will be unreal.

He could go 15-0 and win the Heisman and people will still be here talking about how Max or TJ would have done it better.

He doesn’t have the body type for SEC play. He packed a bunch of weight on but his body is soft. Ride with Max, he’s the future.

You can play that both ways then. Brennan didn't have 11 guys playing defense either. He didn't lose you the games. The defense did. Granted, they weren't great even yesterday but they definitely improved the last 4 games of the season. They didn't exist when Brennan played.

Brennan's performance was on record paces for LSU more than even Burrow. He also had worse oline play when he was playing. He was constantly under pressure and still making throws. They protected Max relatively good in both games and at least had some semblance of a run game. They had no run game with Brennan. He was the entire offense.

I was more impressed with Max's mistake free football when he did get under pressure. I think the INT was a chemistry issue more than a terrible pass since Boutte went behind the DB instead of coming back to the ball. Max collectively around him had an entire team playing better while Brennan was the entire team when he played.

He doesn’t have the shitty statistics either. Brennan threw for a higher completion percentage, more yards on fewer attempts, more TDs on fewer attempts, and had a 20 point higher QB rating.

Max's muscles were rated 4 stars by 247sports. Brennan's were rated only 3 stars.

I’m afraid MB will not make it through the season without getting hurt. Max mobility can keep him on the field.

We can play these games all day. I've always been a fan of Brennan, he has waited and prepared for his turn.
However, the Johnson next season, after off season workouts and spring practice, should be much improved over a true freshman without benefit of spring practice.

It should be a stiff competition.

Whether he returns or not, I think Max has earned the starting job going into next season. He helped knock off Florida last week and then lead the Tigers to a come from behind win against Ole Miss on national television. This young team really appears to be rallying around Max and that is important. I wish Brennan the best on whatever he decides to do!
