No, he did not

At least he doesn’t sound like the Ole Miss announcer. It’s pretty bad. He sounds like a humanoid robot speaking and it is usually at a very loud volume, which reverberates in the stands.

It was good. Will take time to get adjusted but only because Borne has done it for so many years. He is the only voice I have recognized. Even when LSU football sucked in the early 90s. Of course he would try to emulate DB in some ways until he can find his niche. Other than that I just watch the game and don't listen.

He was fine. A little too loud and flamboyant at times. He definitely doesn’t have Dan’s stoic, boomy voice. It’ll take some time to get used to for sure. He won’t receive as much benefit of the doubt with people knowing he landed that gig because of politics.
He really did drive the “PEnalized” and “MACdonalds” shtick into the ground. We get it, Dixon, you’re paying homage to Dan.

How did you feel about Doug Moreau's radio work for LSU?
Private sector, free market, and not nearly as prestigious.
ETA: Radio gig for 98.1 is not an appointed position by LSU.

Elected official. Looks bad!! I personally applied, 34 years of PA exp and didn’t even get a follow up. It looks bad. Even if it’s not. Shame on em for not going through the motions with us non elected applicants

District attorney is private sector?

Having an elected state representative serve in the highly coveted role of public announcer for the flagship state university reeks of the appearance that the selection was quid pro quo. The question I ask, what does he have to do to repay the privilege? Short answer: You did fine Dixon. It’s not rocket science.
He’s been doing games in the PMAC for years. Even before he was elected
I believe he’s related to Skip Bertman. Think he’s a grandson but not sure

I guess I just never noticed, but have been to countless games over the last decade with him announcing.

He was exactly what a high school announcer would sound like.

I didn’t notice so I guess he is fine. Already used to not hearing Borne from last season.

Good enough.
I will get used to it.
I have had only two announcers during my lifetime- Sid Crocker and Dan Borne.
I am glad “First down for the Tigers “ is back.
The replacement last year didn’t say it like that.

Pretty non-descript. At first I thought this guy is going to be bad when he started all the pre-game announcements and advertisement, but he was pretty unnoticeable for the rest of the game. Except the "McDonald's reference already posted. I noticed that. We all know why he has the job but he was not bad. .

On a gang tackle by LSU’s defense….I heard him say tackle made by Bayou Bandits.

Needed a professional and hired a High-school Announcer instead.
