I could see us just playing at an elite level on offense and it being hard to score on our defense which isn't even close to the same as last year. we always have a good enough offense.
we may have to rely on the quick passing game with the new o line..they will have a gameplan that keeps the Clemson d line from pinning their ears back. heavy screen game.

I mean, BK hasn't been good in openers, but it's a different year and a different team. Will be tough to get a W, but wouldn't say it's a zero chance game.

It is a combo of Clemson having several elite players, and LSU having a coach that can't win a season opener or other big games consistently.

Clemson's last 2 opening season games:
2023 - 28-7 loss to Duke
2024 - 34-3 loss to UGA
0-3 vs SEC last season
Only quality win was a 3 point last second FG win over SMU
This should be a close game with Clemson with an edge due to home field

I posted in another thread but I agree with you. Clemson plays in a super weak conference. Last year the only teams they played with a heartbeat were Georgia, SC, and SMU. Georgia destroyed them, they lost to SC at home with everything seemingly on the line and like you said needed a miracle to beat SMU.
Yes they have some dudes that are currently ranked to go high in the draft, but so do we. I think we beat them by double digits and it doesnt hurt clemson either. They then go undefeated in conference and play for their conference championship for a shot at the playoffs.

I think there’s a big difference in playing South Carolina week 3 in Columbia than playing them the final week of the season in the comfort of your home stadium but that’s just me.
This Clemson team also is the exact same as last year, while we upgraded our talent significantly.
