Tear-away jerseys were a thing mostly in the 70s. Charlie Alexander and Brad Davis wore them the most at LSU and Johnny Musso made it a thing at Bama.
It was also the days of midriff jerseys — but you had to have a six-pack to make them look cool.

We had to wear purple jerseys at home because at the time the NCAA had a rule that home teams had to wear a color and road teams had to wear white or a lighter color.
Gerry led a push to allow white jerseys if the road team was okay about it.

Ole Piss uses sissy blue too much anyways, the old navy/red/grey was a classic look imo. I understand using it as an alt every now and then, but now they’re just UNCjr

I wouldn't mind keeping it traditional but with a "new" throwback/homage uniform for a game this year (something like the silent season or the gold jersey in the Fournette era).

Not really, I mean out of LSU's whole FB history, the consistent home uniform being GPG was only an 1983-1994. I'll give you neo-vintage, but for sure not traditional. I hate them. I was at LSU from 1986-90 and that was the home uni for that whole time and I just can't get behind it. The uni I grew up with is the GOAT GWG. That uni is LSU - for most of the modern era, we wore that uni home and away. I'm ok with an alternate occasionally as long as it stays on brand, but please don't make those garish grape purple jerseys with gold pants and lids a regular again.

This is correct. You typed Purple but meant white. Who else remembers the Vandy whiteout game because the “Didn’t get into Ivy” rich kids wouldn’t agree to let us wear white?
