I said just every now and then. I was there in the 80’s also. Look at all the recruits photos. Most are wearing the purple jersey. A jersey that hard headed fans lose their shite if lsu wears them.

How bout this uniform distribution, per season:

G-W-G -- traditional classic -- 9 games, including 7 SEC

G-P-G -- traditional alternate -- 2 games, 1 SEC, 1 N-C

W-W-W -- semi-traditional alternate -- 1 SEC

Any other alternate design reserved for special events, like the one commemorating the non-existent 1918 season.

The early 80's were the decade we broke tradition and wore purple jerseys at home.

We didn’t “break tradition.” The NCAA mandated color jerseys at home. We went back to White at home as soon as they allowed the exception in 1995.

Ole Miss always had the baby blue helmets. They only wore them on occasion though. It wasn’t a Lane thing.

That being said, we aren’t doing any bs alternates. Although I do like the all
Whites in some games. Can’t be vs a traditional sec opponent though. So not vs ole miss, bama, Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky Arkansas or State

Wear them vs expansion teams like tamu or Texas

Wait for It. it's Coming!

I actually like it better than any of the trash alternates WE have worn. (Just invert the H, J and P stripes and make them a little wider)

LSU's traditional Uniform 1A (G-W-G) and Uniform 1B (G-P-G) are so "Athletically Attractive" that we really don't need anything else.

Alternates are for schools that have no fricking tradition that need a fricking gimmick and LSU should be beyond the alternate uniform gimmick BS.

12 long years of what became known as the "purple poison."

Back then it was believed, justifiably that the G-P-G uniform was cursed. Three coaches ended up getting fired because they couldn't win in that uniform, and another flew the coop after three seasons.

HOW ABOUT NO!

G-W-G for every game. Case closed.

They have awesome traditional uniforms and Kiffin really fricked it up.

Facts, people.

Ole Myth started wearing powder blue helmets back when Vaught was the coach. They have gone through cycles over the years, but that isn’t some new thing.

As for the resurgence of wearing powder blue- that started under Freeze. He’s the one who started bringing it back for big games and shaking up their uniforms.

Their athletic department has 100% on board because it was something else they could sell to their fans. Same with the Realtree helmets that were brought up earlier. I think they look terrible, but that’s their top booster and he gets what he wants. Their fans eat it up, as well.
