Ole Miss is not going to win the Natty . They need to get over it . Kiffin has maxxed out what he has been given to work with . College football now is a money game , not an allegiance to alma mater game .

Lane's secret desire is to be a Saban clone, meaning 7 or 8 NCs. He's not doing that at the runt. Whether it's this year or next, he will leave to build that legacy. Building a legacy is not happy land.

He will regret it until he has a recruiting base that gets him a natty. LSU is that place.

Just look at Brian Kelly. I bet he regrets leaving Notre Dame right about now.

Ya think? He’s sitting on there of a $54M buyout. Who in their right mind would regret that decision? Dam!

Yet if Dan Wetzel got offered a better job than his current don’t tell me he would contemplate or even make the move. It happens deal with it.

Depends if he cares about some kind of coaching legacy. He had the opportunity to coach two of the premier jobs in college football...Notre Dame and LSU....and failed. They say he'll be lucky to land a 2nd tier job like Michigan State or Wisconsin.

I get it, but don’t think ND would have extended him? Now that the word is out, doesn’t seem like they would have.

Other than FAU, every place Kiffin has left has been messy. Knoxville wanted to name a sewerage treatment plant after him.

Kiffin leaves and maybe Oxford will name their sewage treatment plant after him. Naming BR’s after BK not a bad idea either.

He'll always regret it if he doesn't.

Ole Miss has to retain Kiffin no matter the cost. It’s twofold. They need a good coach, and they can’t risk the optics of losing him. It would be an absolute disaster.

I hope he stays. If he leaves it’s just another nail in the coffin for college football, imo.

Reminds me of this song…
quote:

Now she was a beauty but when she came to me
She must have thought I'd lost my mind
'Cause I couldn't hold her the words that he told her
Kept comin' back time after time … "You picked a fine time to leave me, Lucille
