Add Pearson Jordan to the list. Jordan was also a track team member in 1979 and was part of a national championship 4x400 meter relay team.

Damn, hate to see that. He was a pretty good WR & ran the 110 hurdles fot the track team. Finished second in the D-1 Championship one year of memory serves.

In the world of weird sad coincidences, I ran across his name on a tRant induced rabbit hole early this morning looking at 1980s teams. Sad news indeed.

He was 59. The death rate for his age bracket is still 1-3%..

Right and usually with underlying health issues in that age bracket. Which is why I asked.

This one hits me hard. The only "real" piece of LSU memorabilia I have is a football jersey he wore his sophomore year that is my most treasured item.

If anyone knows how to put me in touch with the family, I would greatly appreciate it. I would like to offer this back to them, as it doesn't feel right for me to have. TIA

RIP, Orlando.

Orlando made a diving catch of a pass from Alan Risher in the waning seconds to get LSU in place for a game tying field goal against Ole Miss in Jackson in 1983, snatching a tie from the jaws of defeat as there was no overtime then.
