Most underrated underworn uniform in college football

It’s really ashame LSU doesn’t go with the gold purple gold more often.

While I agree that this will happen the rule from the NCAA is that the colors must only contrast significantly.

The only times I can ever recall LSU wearing purple jerseys in the post season was the '85 Sugar Bowl and '00 Peach Bowl.

Why do you say this? LSU was the designated home team in the SECCG games played in 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2011 and 2019. The '03, '05, '11 and '19 were vs Georgia, yet LSU was home and Georgia was the visitor. What makes Georgia special this year, other than they are the defending NC, and an overall superior team to LSU?

Oh, I have a sneaking suspicion LSU will wear purple for this game (not for the first time in Atlanta).

Gold-purple-gold looks good, but we could never win consistently wearing them. Look at LSU's record from 1983 to 1994, at home, where that was the only home uniform for the Tigers.

What do all those years have in common? And then when you figure that out, check out what year it currently is and see if it fits in the same category. And you may find your answer

I agree, Rohan. The LSU white jerseys and the ole miss red jerseys, gray pants and powder blue helmets is classic. Under Freeze and Luke, ole miss wore that combo against LSU.

That powder blue jersey/helmet combo ole miss wears now is a terrible look. Then again, if Kiffin wants them to look like a directional school, so be it.

I know it's probably too far back for most posters here, but we wore purples in the 1950 Sugar Bowl.

Oklahoma destroyed the Tigers 35-0. That game may have started the purple-jersey "curse" reputation.

We could wear purple if they wear red. I believe the rule was changed within the last decade that both teams can wear their home jerseys if the colors are disparate.

LSU and UGA could.
Arky and UGA couldn’t.

ETA: I think LSU should wear the traditional white with gold pants.

That would be okay, but not for the SEC Championship or the playoffs.

frick, I fricking agree. My take has always been still like the tradition of wearing white at home but wish they would sprinkle in the purples a little more.
