Almost everybody on the roster has question marks whether it be needing to get 100% healthy, needing to fulfill potential, or needing to prove they can translate to this level.
Seaton, Princewill, and Pickett are probably the only 3 who appear to be sure things honestly.
Leavitt, Durham, Eugene Wilson, Joyce Brown, Moore, and Weeks all need to get 100% healthy.
Longstreet, Berry,, Green, Solomon Thomas, Harper, McKinley, Ross, Spears need to fulfill potential.
Everybody coming from non-SEC schools needs to prove they can translate.
The exciting part is that the numbers dictate that enough of this should happen to be great. But there's still a ton of question marks.

The roster lacks a proven dominant DT,
imo. Maybe one of the young guys will develop quickly.

Not talent.
Culture
Chemistry
Team
This is what creates the winners in today’s world of team building when you essentially have a new roster every year.
How quickly can the staff make the team pull in one direction.

Chemistry is a big one for me. We saw what happened with A&M when they paid all that money with that Jimbo team.
Kiffin is certainly not Jimbo, but I am looking forward to see how all of these guys can “buy in” and gel.
Depth at CB for me is the other.

If Pickett or Woodland goes down, we have a weak secondary.
I assume they feel incredibly confident about Jackson, Anding, and even Turner as otherwise there were a number of guys with experience.
At least you’re going to 2nd and 3rd year, highly thought of players, if something like that happens. In years past we are starting unproven guys or at least 1 unproven guy.
A nasty DL is a young corners best friend if we have to get to that point though.

I agree I think the depth and experience at DT the biggest concern but not a huge one especially if freshman Anderson can contribute as a spark of the bench

Brutal schedule. Don’t be surprised if this is a 9-3 team.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s a cupcake schedule or anything but it’s not as bad as it may seem.
Clemson
La Tech
@ Ole Miss
A&M
McNeese
@Kentucky
Miss State
@ Auburn
BYE
Alabama
Texas
@Tennessee
@Arkansas
I think LSU beats Clemson, Tech, McNeese, Kentucky, Miss State, and Auburn fairly easily as none of those teams will be very good. I also do not buy Ole Miss at all under Golding and think LSU wins that one fairly comfortably as well. A&M hasn’t done well against top competition and they come to Baton Rouge again this year. Don’t see them winning in Death Valley in back to back years. I think LSU gets to 8-0 going into the BYE.
I don’t think Tennessee will be good or Arkansas for that matter but I hate that they’re back to back on the road but I think LSU should at least be able to split November and get to 10-2.
All in all, drawing road trips to Auburn, Kentucky, Arky, Tenn & Ole Miss isn’t bad. Your toughest games are all in Baton Rouge which helps a ton. Like I said, not an easy schedule but at least it’s not like the Florida schedule from this past season. That to me was brutal.

Only concern I have is 3 of the first 4 games being Clemson, @ Ole Miss and A&M. Then playing Bama and Texas back to back. And that’s not counting road trips to Tennessee and Auburn.
Will be a tough schedule no doubt. But just think what are record would be if we still had Brian Kelly. I don't think we would even have a winning record. And if lane can get all these new pieces figured out, should be a hell of a ride.

I hear ya but also, I wouldn’t get too stuck on the names and instead look at them for who they are.
Is there anything about Clemson this offseason that makes you think they’ll be good enough to come to Baton Rouge and win after how last year went?
Ole Miss survived on their offense this year and they’ve lost the entire offensive staff. Do we think Pete is going to have the rebels winning with defense, especially after losing his green dot and best pass rusher?
A&M didn’t play well at all against top competition last year. Do we see them coming to Baton Rouge after how last year went and doing it again? I think the A&M spot is the trickiest of the 3 but I’m not sure I’m sold on any of those 3 teams.
As far as Auburn, they’ve lost a ton and are breaking in a new coach off of a team that wasn’t good last year either. Auburn will be in full rebuild mode.
See what I mean? The names are big names but they each have nuance.

though WR group might be short of proven power four performers, I trust our offensive coaching staff here.
Yes. As long as Kiffin is our HC, the QB and WR position will always be the least of my worries no matter who is on the roster.

This! CB depth is my biggest concern. If we would have gotten one more proven corner instead of the 11th WR, I would feel so much better.
I’ve seen too many years (as an LSU and Saints fan) were bad corners can nullify an otherwise great roster

1) can Blake Baker figure out how to defend an elusive QB?
2) Can the defense keep us in games until the offense gels, assuming the entire offense has been rebuilt?
3) Will Leavitt be ready considering he may miss the entire spring?
4) Will Pickens be ready to be “the man” and who will take over his role as the number 3 guy?

Hopefully, some of those new safeties are versatile enough to move over to cornerback if needed to give a little depth, there. Also, we have a whole lot of OLs but how good are a lot of those guys.

Glaring would be OL until proven otherwise.
Not saying the O line will be all time great, but…
We could have the same starting 5 as this past season and be worlds better just because of Lane and his offense and NOT having Brad Davis.

I agree with the piped in music. It was toned down but us on the radar

I understand that Corey thinks highly of
Turner at CB. The staff didn’t feel the need to bring in many corners, only one that I know of. Probably think we’re good there. Hope they’re right.
