Fair assessment by CBK. Depth is an issue this season. I’ve thought all along year 3 would be the year. Gives him time to get his system in place, get the players he wants. Favored in every game except Bama…we go 11-1, we’re back in Atlanta.

Neville all time great Coach Charlie Brown: “we hope we can stay on the field with’em” was a favorite quote. And he’d proceed to beat that arse.

It’s year 2 of a rebuild he inherited with 30 scholarship players.

You people never fail to amaze me.

My god people think Kelly's speech should sound like a sunshine pumper on the rant. That statement caused that article.

Let me translate this for you: Kelly to his team, I do not think you can take the next step, if you think I am wrong do all the right things to prove me wrong.

He’s tempering expectations in year 2 for the imbeciles on this board that think if we don’t go undefeated he needs to be canned.

Idiots here will look at what both Johnson and Mulkey did and expect Brian Kelly to do the same. Roster composition in football is a lot more difficult than other two.

Disappointing that he is counting this team out of a natty before the season starts.

This is coaching 101. I’m sure he really doesn’t feel like this. It’s what good coaches do to motivate the players. Saban as well as other coaches have done this since the beginning of competitive sports. And we all know how Saban’s teams normally perform

Hell of a lot better than this quote:

Orgeron before 2020 season: “We are so much better on defense right now than any part of the season last year.”

Hell of a lot better than Miles talking about opening up the offense.

8-4 is a failure

It may be a matter of semantics but regardless of expectations, competitive advantages, championship aspirations, program standards, and everything else, I simply cannot bring myself to view an 8-4 season as a "failure". I can be disappointed in an outcome without considering it a failure. Having sat through every Saturday of six long years of miserable losing seasons, I hope I never lose the ability to appreciate winning.

Good point Brother!!!

Also, as a general policy, it’s pretty much universally recognized that your u can’t trust any guy who’s below 5’5” (like Saban…).

And speaking of the anti-christ, i still find it a bit creepy that Saban continues to have his mini-me (midget) dressed up as a member of the coaching staff for all BAMA games. My buddy from Texas thought I was joking until they both walked past us on going up n to the field for pregame warmup before the LSU vs. BAMA game last November….

GEAUX TIGERS!!!

I hear what Brain Kelly is saying but don’t these athletes know what the coach is doing (meaning) ? We knew why Mulkey was downplaying her team with the typical coach speak. Mulkey’s players are not stupid.
