How can this be? As I read on Tiger Droppings Miles can't coach and now with the decommitments I guess he can't recrute.

I don't think we can have it both ways. So what will it be all of the above some of the above none of the above or just what.

I think all of these post are just looking for something to gripe about and run down LSU while putting all the blame on Coach Miles.
Say it enough and you will belive it. I think it's time that we should be thankful for what we have at LSU. Maybe it could be better but I know one thing it can be a D--- lot worse than it is now.

As others have mentioned LSU has enough talent every year to at the very least be in the sec title game, much less in a bcs bowl. As long as the 3 stooges are here all the talent in the world means nothing.

Nope. We had more talent than Bama.
At what positions?
defensive line? nope.
Linebacker? Nope.
secondary? yes.
offensive line? nope.
running back? nope.
quarterback? nope.
receiving corps? yes.
kicker/punter/special teams? about even.

LSU will be pretty good or better if the OL and DL are better than 09

I'm not all that caught up in using a phrase like "most talented" for the team as a whole... seems like there's either quality play at the different positions or there is not

Talent is nothing without leadership. the most powerful armies are nothing without a general.

At least until this year, the skill positions have been loaded with talent. Lines haven't been premiere in a couple years. OL was pretty decent until the tail end of the 08.

I think it's very fair to blame Miles and co for lack of talent development. Saying that and then blaming him for gamedays and claiming we're getting outcoached with superior talent is a bit condescending, Ole Miss game not withstanding.

I will be glad if we can just be placed somewhere in the SEC west and since we are assured of that - I am happy.

I think we will be every bit as talented as Alabama this coming season (no we didn't have more talent in 2009). I think Ford is going to be a horse that we will ride this season. The o-line is going to be bigger and more physical. Toliver, Tolliver, Randle, and Peterson are very tall fast talented recievers. Jefferson is a year better and a year more comfortable at QB (people seem to tend to forget that this was his first full year as a starter) and most importantly, Crowton/Miles learn from some of the mistakes they made with the offense this past season. The defense side is not even a question with Chavis at the helm and the talent that is in place. I think this team is ready to roll in 2010. Not discounting that alabama will have a good team and that Auburn under their new coaching staff is improving rapidly also. It won't be easy. Along with Arkansas with Mallet, and Ole Miss, the West isn't getting any easier, but we are well poised to take it.

I think you're confusing a chemistry factor with the raw talent factor. Bama had a better team because they were coached better not because they started with better talent.

Our raw talent is certainly comparable to Bama. As proof, compare the # of NFL Combine invites from LSU to Bama.

It's not being negative it's being real. We continually pull top ten talent and have lost 9 games in two years. If we are not in the hunt and improved on offense in 2010, Miles will not have a job. He must do better with the talent we have. Doesn't matter if it is Crowton. The offense is broken and if the CEO of this operation doesn't take the steps nessesary to correct the problem he has sealed his own fate.
