This “free agency” in “colleges” now is a joke. Players bouncing around here and there. Not much school loyalty anymore.

Exactly, this is why I always was more of a college fan than a pro fan. A bunch of energetic guys playing for something bigger than them. For a program that they love, you just won’t see it as much. Now the guys who aren’t recruited as highly youll still see the passion for the program, definitely less consistent now.

Its really taken the excitement out of it for me. Will I be happy with another Natty? Sure.. But it damn sure isnt going to mean as much as they once did to me personally

Why do people think this kid would leave UNC? He's already starting and they have a fairly young core so they will be good again next year.

Braswell fielded .940. NC 3B fielded .907, but had the greatest weekend of his life in the regional. Can you imagine the melt over that 3B making a few errors?

Seriously though, if you’re a Wofford fan, I think this is an awesome thing. With the way the game is now, you can’t expect to hang onto your studs if you’re Wofford.

I was going to say the same thing. There are better options to go after.
That guy just had a hell of a series against us and Tanks. He came back down to earth some in the Supers.
It will be interesting to see how he plays in Omaha.

yeah - I am losing my zest for the team now - I grew up with LSU as my ideal, living/dying with their success/failure.
Now I still have brand identification with them, and root for them, but the passion is gone - It's more like having a favorite pro team now.
The fevered passion just doesn't exist as it once did.

It's not THAT dissimilar to MLB. "Small market" teams (at least in terms of revenue) like Tampa, Oakland, Pittsburgh, KC, Cincinnati routinely lose great players they developed through their farm systems to "big market" teams like the Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, Angles, Red Sox, etc because they just cant match the salaries.
But at least in MLB the small market team gets a few years of service from a guy before he moves on. In college, the small market team is lucky to get two seasons. It is what it is though and likely not changing anytime soon. So while there will always be a few "small schools" that compete each year, sustaining it will be tough. It sounds condescending, but, in essence, a school like Wofford is a AA or AAA farm system for the LSU's of the world.

To be fair, I’m pretty sure “teams” already preferred to not play us in a regional.
