totally, totally ignorant.

there's no way that you can deny that the reduction in size has negatively affected their overall presence in the stadium.
sure you can. i didn't notice at all and i have tons of experience in the field and have been going to lsu football games for a quarter of a century

That's not happening currently
we'll have to agree to disagree. personally, i think the new shows are more entertaining and i marched for 4 years under frank and linda. frank and linda were lazy, repetitive and not creative. i actually pay attention now

you didn't "miss' linda. ever hear about the ole miss fiasco?

hard to not be impressed with jeff. good guy now serving his country. i have plenty of stories.

the refusal of the “good ole boys” to make Linda Moorhouse Tiger Band Director and Director of Bands played a major role in the decline of Tiger Band. It was a job for which she was immensely qualified, and which she completely deserved
after alumni band one year, i told her as much. she just walked off and couldn't have cared less. she's a terrible human being, stabbed anyone and everyone in the back and she rode frank's coattails to get anywhere in life. but i bet her mom loves her

ok roy. let's be honest, roy was doing some underhanded things and finally got caught.

99% of my info is from Frank Wickes
frank was amazing with the baton but wasn't always the most upstanding person. maybe you should take that with a grain of salt.

this is starting to explain your skewed perspective. where do you think linda learned how to stab people in the back? she learned from the master

He was, however, withholding scholarship money from people unless they gave up their earned chair in Wind Ensemble and played in Symphonic Band instead. That's probably what got everybody mad at him in the first place.
come on now. people might have gotten a little irritated at this. what he was REALLY doing is what got him in trouble. let's not be naive

seriously? you are trying to gauge college bands (first of all, stupid) by "awards"

Since you don't respect my opinion, and I disagree with yours, I was offering a list of awards (some administered by very respected professionals) the band has received. You can dismiss all of these accolades if you choose, but it makes you sound very foolish.

prove they aren't recruiting hard enough

Bad instrumentation and poor numbers. If what you need is not walking in the door, you MUST GO OUT AND FIND WHAT YOU NEED. That is recruiting. Frank, Linda, and Roy did that for many years. That is how they had the outstanding numbers in the band. They were cutting about 100 students every year just to get to 325! THAT IS NOT HAPPENING NOW.

i'm referring to the gimmicks

Anyone can make a car on the field or spell words. How you get in and out of those pictures and letters is the issue. Halftime drill is NOT what is printed on the page, it's what 's INBETWEEN the pages! In other words, it's the movement.

Also, what has Dennis ever done? What has Damon ever done?

I asked that question for a reason. Much of the criticism of Coach O is that he does not have an adequate resume to qualify for the LSU job. The same applies to Dennis and Damon. Damon was a band director at a school with no football and Dennis was a band director at a high school with 20 kids in the band. This is why I'm more than queezy about their leadership.

It did seem the hire was done in typical LSU fashion these days. Just take the easy way out and promote the assistant on the cheap, even though said assistant had never directed anything above a high school band.

No nationwide search for the best band director possible. In all phases, academics, music, athletics, etc., these days, LSU seems perfectly happy with mediocrity.

Sorry to disagree, but Auburn’s band is just as good as Tiger Band, and a helluva lot louder.

GG's require lots of extra money and tons of catty BS to put up with. Talent matters less than clout.

I'd stay away too.
