We made the 2018 game @ Auburn harder than it had to be…

Watching again, and I forgot how much we dominated the 1st half. We were still trying to figure out the receivers, but the defense was dominant. We could have easily been up 17-0 early, but just a couple of questionable coaching decisions.

1. Forced the ball to J. Giles like 4 times, and he alligator armed 3 of them.
2. Ran the ball very well early, but chose to kick the 52 yarder early on 4th and 2. Missed
3. Forced the fricking wildcat on short yardage situations (after running the shite out of the ball), and it led to a couple false starts. WTF? We ran it down their throat, but kept getting false starts in the wildcat with Clyde.

We let Auburn hang around at their place. If we do that again the same thing will happen after they build some confidence. They will make this close if we make mistakes in the first half. If we step on the gas early and play sound football, we can take the wind out of the place and leave with a dominant win.

Still haven’t forgiven him for the A&M game.

How in the hell did he get 7.

But here’s the difference… we now have a legit coaching staff.

I feel like Kelly has learned our team much better than what we knew about the 2018 team at that time. They were literally forcing it to the guy, and he choked every time. Just was not ready for the big time pressure.

Better question is how did he have nearly 1200 yds and 13 TD’s at Texas Tech. Was it all Mahomes?

But man, #7 used to mean something. Since Fournette it’s almost become a curse.

22) Boutte - hot debate amongst fan base
21) Stingley - played three games, hot debate amongst fan base
20) Stevens - had his worst season under Pelini
20) Chase - dropped out
19) Delpit - special season, but arguably his worst statistically due to ankle
18) Giles - obvious
17) Chark - solid player, but 7 by default?
16) Fournette

Probably a good sign that it’s time for a break. Assign it to some random freshman and let him grow into it like any other normal player.

This narrative is so stupid. This coaching staff won a NY6 bowl and then a national championship.

That’s what I’ve thought as of late. I think 18 has some good meaning and guys take the number as a legitimate honor. 7 just seems to be a slight after thought most of the time.

We didn’t have a competent coach either like we do now

I kinda feel like Chark did the number justice. We don’t comeback against Auburn without his huge punt return TD which really sparked the comeback. Chark made plays and led by example on the field and came up big when we needed him. That’s what number 7 should do.

I don’t remember Aranda coaching the offense. Nor do I remember Aranda recruiting Joe Burrow to LSU. Y’all need to give it up. Coach O gave us the greatest season in the history of not only LSU but College Football. Aranda’s defense was hot garbage for 1/2 of 2019 and not for Burrow, Clyde, Chase, and Jetts putting up video game numbers we get our asses handed to us several times.

Maybe so but Brian Kelly is still a 50x better pure coach than Ed ever was. If you can’t see that then you can’t be helped

Orgeron was a con man moron in the right place at the right time. Vacate the head coach position in 2019 and that team still wins the NC. Orgeron was a spectator along for the ride.

DJ Chark was an awesome #7. Dude was money and is now a Pro Bowl receiver.

Chark was elite in 7. We forget just how good he was because because Fournette carried that number like a beacon of light right after Tyrann Mathieu and Patrick Peterson made it famous. Almost 900 yards receiving at a nearly 22 yards a catch. He had 500 yards more than the next best option (which was RB Darrel Williams). He had 2 punt return TDs, and 60 yards and a TD as a rusher.

If a player wants to wear 7 I really don’t care. It may not matter to you fans butthat number means things to recruits and the guys that want to wear it.

Bill Busch brought joe to LSU. Bill Busch was arandas guy. Dave is as responsible for Joe as Ed
