I’m sure Iowa had the same. Why does college basketball get so many staff members on the bench. Hell, we only dress out 12.

Spending is out of control. They spend it because they have it.

If we had one less staff member Reese doesn't get injured in the first half

with all the missed layups, you need that much staff to fetch the balls

One coach for every player
You need that these days
Hell football has an analyst for every player
They can’t function without a cell phone

The 11th coach would have been in charge of defending Caitlin Clark.

LSU's game plan to defend her was pathetic. Hedge hard off ball screens, Double-team her constantly, switch if you have to. Whatever you do though, force the ball out of her hands. If that means she has 20 assists, you live with it. Make someone else beat you. And if she shoots, make sure its with multiple hands in her face.

Many times Iowa just ran a simple ball screen (that LSU went UNDER several times for some unknown reason), or they sagged to give her space for a 3. She's a terrific player who is looking to take 3's But holy shite! LSU looked like they had never had to defend a shooter in their lives.

It wasn't a situation where you were trying to defend a 7'4 Zack Edy where you simply couldn't do anything to guard his height. There are ways to force the ball out of a shooter's hands and to take more contested shots. LSU rarely did any of them besides simply telling HVL and Poa "Hey. Do the best you can".

More money is wasted on womens sports than anything in the collegiate sphere

That, and diversity compliance departments

And why is there an offensive coordinator and a separate quarterback coach, and analysts for film and everything else? QB is only one position. Just wasteful

Unfortunately once Clark found her range from 27 feet (with a running jump shot fading 3 feet to the left) there was little you could do. Was surprised we didn't double more.

They all have their own roll.

I’m fairly close with most of them. There’s a few of them that are analyst. They are also coaches for practice. The director of player personnel, the head trainer, NIL, few assistant coaches. All of them are on the LSU WBB web page. They all serve a purpose. Saban was notorious for having the largest most robust list of coaches and analyst.

A lot of that will be going away in the next few years as soon as football breaks away from the NCAA.

The equal scholarship thing was from a Supreme Court ruling. Not sure how football moving outside the NCAA would help that.

Really not overwhelmed with talent evaluation. Too many holes in this roster and no bench. Who heads this. There is alot of talent under the radar, like the MTSU pg. How can SC platoon their talent and we have players out of position playing pg?

It's a shame that all the best coaches are on message boards and we are left with second rate talent to actually deal with the players. Seems to be true in every sport.
