We could praise all our freshmen, but i came away most impressed with Dwight. Thrown in abruptly and didnt care if he got beat, and he was rarely ever beat on any play even the TD he gave up he just played the ball wrong. He didnt blow any coverages unlike our other Db flott does every game. I like the potential our secondary has

I agree, he looked like a straight baller. Long body and arms, will only get better. Reminds me of Seattle's DB's few years back with Pete's Superbowl teams, i.e. Richard Sherman. Not saying he is Sherman but like him.

That’s odd, because I came away most impressed with that Johnson kid.

My take away is he acted like he wanted to be there. We have watched a completely lost, emotionless team for the bulk of this year. Give me kid that wants to be there and shows it and I can pull for em thru a whole lot of bullcrap.

McGlothern is solid and may become elite as he matures. He looks like a Free Safety with good cover skills.

While he was beat a few times, none were because he couldn't keep up with the receiver. Countless times this year our db has been beat so bad, they're not even in the picture when the receiver catches the ball.

Well, yes, the QB play was exceptional. So some other context, Mcglothern impressed me because he was not in the game plan to come in and play, he went out there and played really well, as did all the Freshman.

But I agree Max indeed was very, very, impressive. Doesn't mean other freshman out there looked damn good. They all did. Great team effort.

He made a Honey Badger-esqe tackle in the 2nd quarter...they had a perimeter screen set up with two blockers going after McGlothern and he went outside of the outside blocker (what he's supposed to do to force inside....and instead of simply forcing the ball inside, he makes the tackle for no gain.

So that's the easy answer. Of course he impressed however he knew he was starting and was getting an opportunity. Dwight was thrown in to the game and expected to guard a team with a heisman candidate. He gave up some plays however it didnt faze him and he kept going. we played 26 freshman and sophmores total. all did well fro being so young in hostile environments

I was impressed too. He clearly is raw, but I liked how he was aggressive and went after it. With some good coaching, I think he's going to be a great DB for us!

He played his heart out for sure and will only get better. As stated about Flott...I agree.

I watched most of the game, and came away impressed with the play of your freshmen. The whole team showed more fight than the week before.
When I saw everyone out and putting players in who weren't expected to play that game I expected a long day for y'all but loved the way the game went. This bodes well for the future of LSU football.

Having to think instead of react can make you slower. With more PT that can change.

Not sure why McGlothern has taken so long to see the field. He has good size and his jr year he was a 5* CB and still came in as a 4*. He changed HS his Sr yr and played both ways and caught 18 TDs as a WR. He has talent. ...

I posted the text above yesterday. Not sure what made him drop but throughout his junior year he was rated 5* at CB until Feb 2019. Also not sure why people on here say he is slow. He is not elite speed but he is not slow.

I agree he doesn’t have as much speed but he is tall good w long arms and more physical - not afraid to hit. Maybe better as a safety. He fought the whole game and didn’t get discouraged despite getting picked on repeatedly.

His speed is better than he is being given credit for. He was injured early in the game which affected his speed. I guarantee he is as fast as Ricks.

I've predicted before that he is going to be a star and the most underrated player in his class. At one time he was rated a 5 star CB. He changed schools three straight years and played mainly as a WR his senior year. He caught 66 passes for 1307 yards, a 19.8 YPC average and 18 TDs as a senior at a new school. He has ball skills. He had 15 interceptions in his high school career. He is originally from Plain Dealing, Louisiana near Shreveport. LSU really is his dream school where he has always wanted to play.
