Well, it shouldn't be an excuse if we have a shitty next year. That said, I expect some fans to go apeshit if next year's team doesn't win the SEC or make the "Final Four". It would be appropriate in that case to point out that the team is still relatively young. Year after next, the team should be dominant.

You forgot WR. ....my guess is that you did on purpose. There are also 2 true freshmen at the RB position.....

Again, I don't believe for a second that you really believe this offense has no excuse for being somewhat idle this year. That happens when you're that young across the board. Anyone that knows ANYTHING about football understands that and you do too....

this is a direct way to address the built-in excuses next year and in 2016. hence why the thread title is

Why are you even bringing it up? No one here knows what's going to happen in the next two years. My expectations are going to be insanely high, probably the highest they've ever been within the next couple of years, but back to the youth issue across the board on the offense......it's completely ridiculous to have such high expectations for those guys this year.

If we don't have a ton of early defectors, sure

LSU is young because of its recruiting/development SUCCESS, not its failure. It's not like the guys bombed... they were instead so successful they are now drawing NFL paychecks. LSU's been killed by early entries to the draft. Ironically, its LSU's ability to find talent and develop it so quickly that has hurt the team's experience and depth.

So we might be young again... who knows? Depends on if we keep losing double digit underclassmen to the pros.

I think Harris could be the starter next year, and yes he will make some sophomoric mistakes. But the general opinion of him will not be, well he's young.

that only really applies to WR and DT this year, and our WRs have been fine (DT obviously was an issue)

I don't think this is right at all.

And if it is, then why the thread? Because you already know the answer.

And does winning 10 games nearly every year and competing for titles need an "excuse"? LSU is one of the winningest programs in college football in the past 10 years. There's no need to make "excuses". The program is pretty great.

It's the emotional equivalent of walking into a special ed class, talking politics then thinking you should host a show on Fox News.

i'm not saying that LSU is bad

this is mainly about long-term/big picture stuff, primarily national titles. i want LSU to get back to that level

but that's for another thread and isn't really what this thread is about, directly at least (obviously youth flaws like DT this year were keeping us from the title, which i did not expect at all and i'm happy to see guys like beckwith finally start and show they were the better option)

And I'm saying we're on that level now. This program is healthy and wildly successful. You're the one who talked about "Excuses", and I'm pointing out the program needs none.

bullshite.

Your posts in this thread are littered with negative comments about recruiting, developing players, and playing time decisions. Your posts are fairly characterized as dripping with negativity, as is your modus operandi.

I know you think most posters on the Rant are stupid. I agree.

But not all of us are stupid.

So frick off with this bullshite:

i'm not being negative

And guess what, units can be inexperienced and it can affect the success of an entire team. There's this thing called rebuilding years, and it has been ever so. So you can frick off with this bullshite too:
quote:

i just want everyone to promise that this excuse isn't going to be used next year

SFP, as smart as you THINK you are, Baloo is smarter. Much smarter.

He must have gotten at least a 32 on his ACT.
