I agree that it kills our depth but you would "blame the staff" if they leave? What do you want them to do? Chain them in a room?

let me add. i knew we weren't going to be good this year. i've had issues with the coaches wasting development of our guys and all that, but we weren't going to be good this year

and there is a perverse joy in not being good here or there. it makes games like last night fun. things like rushing the field only happen when you're not good. i just don't want to rush the field against ole miss for a long fricking time moving forward.

Depends how many leave early. There is a possibility of losing atleast half our defense.

Yet, you were part of the group that consistently posted that youth is never an excuse and there shouldn't be a reason that this team shouldn't contend.......

I really really hate to quote rex but...

Here is where you can shove it up your arse because in your so intelligent post you utterly fail to mention that its the damn players we did recruit and develop that all went to the NFL early.

You failed.

At worst imo we lose

Hunter
Rasco
Martin

Q thomas

Altho the jalens may bolt too depending on who they listen to. ..

K Alexander hopefully stays. Bit too small to play lb in the league at the moment.

for an established program, it should only happen when you are not good

nope. i think youth signals recruiting/developmental failures

but i believe that "youth" should never be a perpetual excuse. this year we get to use the card. we are not good this year, and it is expected.

if we have to use it next year b/c we suck, then that's an issue with more than "youth"

for the record i don't care if we lost 6 games this year, as long as we used this year to develop our young players for next year. that's one reason i was so mad at how our coaches fricked up using the ULM game. we wasted 4 crucial quarters of development. harris, adams, beckwith, LF, etc could have used 3 quarters of live play to work out issues to be more prepared to play today. THAT is the stuff i've had issues with this year with the staff

again, this only affected us this year at WR and DT, and it isn't really hurting us too bad at WR (obviously hurts at DT)

You act like no other team has ever had an issue there.

I know you're just going to bring up and compare to Alabama though. So there's that.

i assure you, i can fill the entire front page by myself with nothing but posts calling Miles a dumbass because he'll never play freshman, because he'll never make changes to the staff, about our outdated and worthless offense, how we need to move to the spread like Ole Miss and TAM or get left behind, about going 0-8 in the SEC, about Aleva firing him...

That's a you problem and you're smarter than that.

Every level of every game, there will be learning curves, growing up, learning systems, learning playbooks, learning defensive schemes.....

Generally, for the most part, college players don't become solid - elite in their first couple of years. Their Jr. years are when these kids turn the corner. To think otherwise, is silly. There ARE kids that grow up sooner, but those kids are the exception, not the rule. To think that LSU is immune to any of this is just being downright intolerant and unfair to those kids on the field.

We let Brady get away with this excuse for a decade when it came to basketball.

Just as naive as the "sunshine pumpers."

It's hard to win a title. Other teams play to win too. What Bama/USC did is very rare. It's certainly a goal, but not having that type of success isn't a failure. Oregon has 0 titles to show from their incredible stretch. TOSU has 1 title from Tressel and Urban. Bowden and Spurrier only got one title each from a decade + of domination. As we well know, (2007, Bama dropping home games in November on the way to titles) you need a great team and a lot of luck to win it all.

Refusal to acknowledge that is incredibly myopic

sFP, you are talking out of both sideS of you arse now. You say that you would be ok with 6 losses this year as long as it was used to develop for next year.

If a coach does this, how do you think it makes Kenny Hilliard feel about coming back? Or la'el Collins? Seniors would never trust the coach that gives up on one year for the development for the next year.

The only time "youth" becomes an excuse is when it is at either an important position, or multiple positions. This year happens to be qb and DT.

SFP, you need to go hang out a a coffe shop with all of the self-proclaimed intellectuals of the world.

So, LSU is 12 hrs. past a pretty important win you thought would never happen and you want to talk as if we are no longer young cause we beat Old Miss???

Most youthful teams have growing pains. We have and I would be surprised if those pains totally went away cause of a big win in TS.

No offing way. Just as many will leave at the end of this year as have the last two or three years. Les has created a pattern that the kids understand. Sign w LSU, you'll be drafted early and the money will come early. He's done a great job but they're going to go if the pros will draft them. As long as he stays here LSU is going to be good BUT THEY ARE GOING TO GO IF they are good enough to be drafted…..
