We are legitimate playoff contenders right now

Even if you looked strictly at the rankings, we are in the top 6, which is almost indisputable judgement of who’s in contention. But furthermore, we’ve already notched 2 wins against top 10 teams who were originally thought to be contenders. And we know the committee loves signiature wins. If we improve down the stretch, you could actually be looking at a serious shot in the playoffs.
Who thought we would be here after week 3? What a time to be a tiger!!

The schedule is already brutal... 2 top 5 teams in UGA and Bama and another top 25 from Moo State and Texas A&M. I'm pretty sure 2011's schedule was this brutal too.

We have to hope that we only lose one. Oklahoma and OhSt will most certainly lay an egg at some point like they always do. Bama would have to lose twice to be out- and then still might squeak in.
But against other one loss teams (assuming LSU loses one) LSU should get the nod over an Oklahoma or an Ohio State just based on strength of schedule.

Downvote me all you want. But this thread is absolutely insane. Yesterday morning the Rant was filled with people saying we were going to blow out Auburn by 3 tds. And these same people were all over the scoreboard posting gotcha threads about how they were right, blah blah. After a 1 point victory in which the offense disappeared for two quarters.
Yesterday was a great game and a great win for the Tigers. Enjoy it. They earned it. But there’s a lot of football left to play. We should worry about handling Tech while continuing to improve. Keep winning and the rest will work itself out.
But saying LSU is in the running for a natty? After 3 very ugly games? With the schedule we’ve got? Come on man.

Contenders, yes. Realistic shot to get in? I’ll say no at this moment. The offense needs to gear way up to make this team a legit NC contender. Bama is on another level this year with their offense.

Five very tough games remaining. Of those, the three home games are silly-tough, and the two road games (UF and A&M) are really tough. Some teams allegedly "in the playoff discussion" won't have two wins better than LSU already has, but they may make the post-season just because their schedules dont compare to LSU's.

Lsu could have ran away with this game in 1st quarter. And played conservative till the end. LSU shot themselves in the foot 2x in first three drives.
Screen pass to CEH on second down brought us to 3rd and 3yards st the 31. Bad blocking loss the down now its 2 and 18. Just how it goes sometimes. 3rd drive 3rd and 2yards at Auburn 35. False start.
These plays happen we had a chance to drop the hammer but penalties get the best of us and I truly think refs were trying to dictate game. But what ever we pulled out the win by a count hair.
Fact is we won.

I’m not saying they’re sure locks to the playoffs or even that I think they’ll make it. But just looking at it now, where we’re ranked, we for sure have a chance. I wouldn’t have thought that before the season being only 3 weeks in

Sure, just beat Florida and Georgia while Bama handles Mizzou and Tennessee. Then avoid land mines against underdogs Moo State and A&M and you probably get in even with a loss to Bama.
Anything else and it's back to the Citrus Bowl.
