I don’t disagree, but is there really a huge difference in this year and next year? About 10M difference for BK I believe, but if we get a whole new offensive staff and then fire everyone next year, we are gonna owe that new staff their buyouts too. So probably somewhere in the range of 5-7M difference if we wait until next year? Doesn’t seem worth it.

I know some on here are all on the Blake Baker bandwagon but I am not not after what I saw yesterday. I mean no halftime adjustments. Absolutely cannot stop a mobility quarterback and we shall see what happens Saturday night with Marcel Reed. I'm afraid if Diego Pavia ate us up like he did, I can only imagine what Marcel Reed is going to do. No sir. I for one am not fully on the Blake Baker bandwagon. Is he better than madhouse absolutely, but I think I could come coach and be better than that house. Blake Baker is a step up but what I saw this past Saturday when you could not stop Vanderbilt the only time you stopped him. The second half is when they had a holding penalty and had to start off first in 20. That is the only time you made them punt. No no halftime adjustments from what I saw yesterday

I think he gets at least 2 more years. Next year all new offensive side of the ball. Then he gets a second year because it's tough to rebuild an offense in 1 year. You have to get players in the portal and recruits that fit the scheme. Thats why Kelly said judge him in his 3rd year because by then he would have had his type of players in the system for a few years.

A new HC and staff and roster would cost LSU boosters between $75- 100m in new committed and dead money this year alone. Nope. Not going to happen. You let this play out with the OC and OL changes. Eat into Kelly’s buyout and see how it goes in ‘26. That’s what is going to happen here.

You do realize how expensive trying to rebuild this offense is going to be? It will be in the tens of millions just to have Kelly fired in a year or 2. You make Kelly roll with Sloan and Davis. Forget all that noise of paying off our offensive staff and hiring a new one. All these new coaches will want contracts from hell with huge NIL investments. They all know Kelly is on borrowed time. By the time all this is over it will end up costing LSU the same if they just fire Kelly now.

Trying to save money rather than ripping off the bandage is going to cost LSU more than people realize. Contracts for Sloan and Davis paid off. Huge guarantees for any offensive staff who will agree to come here. Huge NIL commitments to lure the OC we want. Everyone knows Kelly’s time is short here. After 1 or 2 years Kelly is fired and we will have to pay off another group of offensive coaches all to save $10-20 million in a buyout. It’s a wash if you know Kelly isn’t the answer.

it's going to be Tommy Rees as OC

Yeah, nothing moves the needle more than him hiring another unproven coordinator that was groomed up under Kelly lol

Coaches hire what they are familiar with and Kelly is familiar with Rees

Well thats been his problem since Day 1. Nothing better than getting another one of your buddies a free couple mil on your way out the door. Once he shite the bed, LSU will be buying him out too.

Can/would Woodward and the LSU administration tell Burger King if he wants new coaches to replace the OC and OL coach he can pay them out of his own salary? Now that would be interesting.

Yup.

Problem is, he has not shown an ability to pick good staff.

Agreed. Forgot about paying off the current offensive staff also if we fire them this year. Def damn near a wash if we fire him this year or next year. Not a huge enough difference money wise if you don’t think he’s your guy.

I think you're on to something. There should be one or two choices. Fire all now and pay the buy out or tell BK we are not paying for a new staff. You chose these guys. You're going to live with them next year.

Of course you are completely writing off next year as a crappy year but I think it will be cheaper in the long run.

Oh I see. So no blame for Baker? 24 points has been enough for us to win because of our defense yet Baker gets no blame? You guys are hopeless.

There you are bitch.

Please defend some of sloan's calls from the last game.

The best defense against a team like Vanderbilt is for your offense to perform and keep vandy's offense off the field.

Our defense didn't play great but they had no help from our offense. They did come up with some stops at the end of the game but our offense could not do anything with the ball.
