i legit bwelieve thats an option play. that monster TE of theirs , you BETTER commit to stopping him on the screen they were flexing him out for. and if you do? qb draw.

Its a nightmare to defend tbh

Stevie Wonder could see it was going to be a QB run.

Everyone except LSU coaches and players apparently.

Like we all knew that Stein was going for 2 after we scored. I keep wondering if we should’ve gone for it too knowing kicking the extra point was not going to be enough and our defense got out coached all night

honestly, they probably had two plays called. The play was executed so easily, it doesn't mean it was that simple though(from a defensive perspective)

They always have 2 plays called. That doesn’t mean you make one of them the easiest conversion ever.

If I’m going to lose in that situation I’m making the QB throw the ball. So much more can go wrong vs. letting him walk in to the end zone untouched.

The moment the LBers shifted out it was a done deal.

Yep. Worse part was, the LSU lineman on either side all let themselves be blocked to the outside and not one of them stayed in the middle to guard what was coming.

Probably because they expected a linebacker to make that run fit.

This is what you lose when your green dot is injured.

He and Keys both shifting out when LSU already had safety help on both sides is crazy.

shoulda never been any safety help. THAT IS ON COACHING! FACT! you are deep in the RZ. the field helps the defense there. less guys needed deep. field is compressed. both safeties shoulda blitzed. or 1 rush and 1 spy in the middle for that exact play.

it is just dumber than dogshit coaching

leave them in 5 on 5 man coverage. jam at line. jam hard.

you think saban woulda allowed that shite? as soon as they went empty set i was screaming at TV it was gonna be a run up the middle. saban woulda either had that Qb on his arse, throw a rushed pass, or an INT.

blaker can GTFO. fireable offense. man make them beat you. you beat yourself and gave it to them. I coulda walzted into the EZ on that play.

start sending out feelers now for a new DC. kiffin is gonna have to get involved sadly and never let this shite happen again.

blake malloveto tepper.

Baker is not at fault. Dottery should have checked the linebackers out of pass coverage back into run coverage. Do you actually believe Baker or any DC would go into thst defense on purpose on tgat play. I could gave run for a TD with no LB's covering the QB draw.

It was egregious. It should have been a rudimentary counter once they flushed everyone out wide. You always keep someone in the middle of the field.

I totally agree. Why did we have the D Line rush up the field? I was saying QB Draw to the TV. It was just given to him. The decisions seemed simple-minded.

Not to even mention that stack formation that was disastrous.

ETA: After reading the rest of the thread, it's at least obvious we all could see that based on alignment, QB Draw was the no brainer.

Well "Pal" Dottery didn't EARN his paycheck last night. He made a mistake and it cost us. It apperas that YOU think no one makes mistakes except YOU. Baker wasn't playing LB last night "Pal". Are you stupid enough to believe Baker would call that defense against a 6 wide and only 4 of our DL's to stop a QB draw? Well "Pal" had Weeks been in the game I bet you he would have made the proper check. You know nothing

You are correct sir. I asked myself over and over again, how did Blake not know that?

A side note: why do all ex LSU coaches perform so much better once they leave LSU?

Solid against the run, awful in coverage. It’s not an accident that Dottery came here and started immediately.

Keys was better than Dottery last night. Especially in the run game
