LSU hired Ed Orgeron to replace Les Miles because he promised to hire two high-profile coordinators and recruit like a madman. After a 9-4 season in 2017 and a recruiting class that ranked No. 14 nationally, the Tigers' worst ranking since 2002, LSU fans are still waiting for results.

We have to give him more time so there's nothing left to salvage for the next guy.

Damn, from a contender every year for the SEC Championship and National Championship to barely in the top 25.

What was their last "way too early poll" like? I just find it funny that there would be much a difference in where they rank teams given 95% of these incoming freshman won't even be significant contributors

Wait, I thought only the exacting and irrational heathens of the Rant were asserting these totally unfair and premature criticisms of the mighty O? ESPN must have been infiltrated by evil Rant operatives. Someone call Bristol, stat!

"Well we started the season #23, and finished #21, so the progress speaks for itself. We're tremendously excited about the direction of this football team and think with another recruiting class or two we're going to be pretty close to being back in the mix for possible championship opportunities. Geaux Tigers."

Totally embarrassing when you're ranked behind Moo St in the pre-season.

I mean, hardest schedule in years, bad QB play for 10 years, no more superstar running back. Of course the ranking is going to be bad. The talent is there if it comes together though.

LSU has been irrelevant for quite some time. I know it is hard for LSU fans to see this, but teams do not fear playing LSU anymore and the SEC championship has been out of reach since 2011. There was hope that the team would move back to relevance after terminating Miles, but the most embarrassing hire was made and the irrelevance will continue.

Here’s the road for #23 LSU in ‘18 (based on this poll):

#2 Alabama at Home
#3 Georgia at Home
#8 Miami at Neutral Site (Dallas)
#14 Auburn at Auburn
#20 Moo State at Home
Also AT Florida, AT Arky, & AT Texas A2M.

Wait till T-Derek gets his drove of LSU student workers in the athletic building to get on ESPN and bash them relentlessly.

Well the good news is we have a chance to make a lot of noise and move up fast in the first month of the schedule.

We also have an excellent chance to be unranked by week 2 for the first time since 2000 (when we started the season unranked).

Of course. I'm just saying the opportunity is there to get recognition early if we play well. We won't be flying under the radar if we start 4-0
