Bech and Mashburn have both emerged to be great fits for LSU. However, you're kidding yourself if you think either are as talented as Gilbert. Drama aside, the kid could've been the best TE to ever play at LSU.

We as fans have no way of knowing exactly what all goes on inside the program so I reserve judgement when kids transfer. Arik Gilbert has always been a freak of nature at his position. I live in Atlanta, GA and the every HS coach I know always bragged about how great of a talent that kid is.

Talent means jack shite if you can’t learn to play with a team. Though I guess kids see Antonio Brown and think they can act/say/do whatever and it’ll all work out. I do realize there are more than just run of the mill primadonna issues with Gilbert, but it’ll be really damn sad if he never gets them under control enough to realize all that potential.

All day. When you think about what we’ve gotten from Bech and now Mashburn this year, the Gilbert Saga seems like a joke. These guys WANT to play for LSU and they lay their damn bodies on the line every Saturday. Love where we’re at with our TE group

Bech isn’t a true TE. He’s only playing there out LF necessity.

With Tiny Johnson showing up next year, our young WR's showing out and the talent in the RB group whoever is running the offense next year will have an embarrassment of riches.

It was the best game I’ve seen from Ingram in a very long time.

Martinez was a beast too

With Martinez, Bradford and Dellinger all playing well Saturday maybe there is some hope for the offensive line next year

This, Bech has played TE the grand majority of the season. He's taken 234 snaps on offense and only 61 of them have been at the TE spot (inline). It was only 8 snaps last game against UF. We only use him there out of pure necessity.

We only have 2 actual TEs on the team, Taylor and Mashburn.

And Mashburn is better from what I've seen.

Wouldn’t mind seeing some 2 TE sets more often. Maybe attach Bech to the line in a WB position along side of Mashburn. You could do all kinds of things with him from that spot.

I think the issue with Gilbert was him being a letitimate head case, not him having primadonna complex. I wouldn't be surprised if it was all of the discord on the team that broke him last year.

And Taylor didn't play a single snap against Florida.

Mashburn is a monster.

I agree. What a pleasant surprise: a great blocker plus catches passes, too.

We were talking about only having 'Receiver' TE's and no blocking ones the last 2 seasons. He proved us wrong.

Mashburn played very well, but it was the scheme that did it. Every blocker had leverage.
