The other "fans" (aka you aka the rant) only make it worse. You're all awful.

Upvote for that.

You're right most of the time. The viewing experience is obviously so much better on a big screen. Cold beer and food at the ready and not costing an arm and a leg. A clean bathroom feet away.

But you can't get the tailgating at home. More importantly you can't get the atmosphere. You can feel it in the air for a big game on a Saturday night.

Not for me. My dad and I really bonded attending games and it's something I hold very special.

My dad is no longer here and I'm still not right after it but I for sure will be at every home game, just based on the special memories I have from all those other games. Nothing can replace that, just for me personally.

We never missed a home game and made some away games too.

If you can only get below average seats home is better. I went to the UK game in 07 (bad seats), and the s. carolina game in 08 (great seats). Should have stayed home for the UK game, and not just because we lost. Both games were road games (I live in virginia).

This is all absolutely correct, no argument from me. With all that said, take even a game like Mississippi State last season, I'm glad I was in the stands sweating my arse off that night with thousands of my closest friends rather than sitting on the coach at my house with my wife and a few friends. There's just something about taking it in live.

I get to sit in my comfortable chair, eat my own food, drink good beer, in air conditioning. . .

And I can rewind and pause shite when I want. . .

AND I don't have to deal with slobbering drunken halfwits?

No contest

I think the correct answer to this thread is that a mixture (of both at home and in-person) is perfect... most people wouldn't want to attend every single game in a given season since it's an entire day-long event , or in the case of those who live out of town, as i used to-- and entire weekend-long commitment, that really takes a lot out of you physically... but, fortunately , the NCAA is aware of this and has scheduled an equal number of Away games as Home games-- so a fan can attend every home game, then sit on the couch in the A/C and pop a cold one while watching the away games... Brilliant!

maybe i'm just getting older but i would agree the gameday experience isn't what it once was

that said, being there is still better except against the rent-a-win opponents

Hate to say this, older I get, more I agree. However, I'm in TN...if I was in LA, I'd have season tix.

For a big game, no way.

That's when TV is really better.

The main thing that has killed the experience for me is parking.

The proliferation of TV Timeouts and other commercial interruptions/delays has destroyed the flow and emotional momentum of watching the games for everyone, especially those in the stadium!
