according to u guys they may need to add some rafters at the pmac for the multiple final 4s we are about to experience
Please quote that response in this thread. There was one guy who said he thought CJJ would bring LSU a NC (which I disagreed with, btw). I have yet to see anyone say that CJJ will absolutely get to one or more Final Fours.

So y'all would rather 5 or 6 NCAA tourneys with maybe 2-3 sweet 16s OR a 5 year span with a final 4, a first round exit, and maybe 3 NITs?

Oh don't even start that shite...
a. He was gifted that team
b. SEC placement by year (since 2001-02)

4th
1st
11th
8th (fired)
Yea he was consistently awesome.
Why wouldn't you print the full record or mention that he started out with the team under probation for 2 years? And what the heck does "gifted" mean? Did every final 4 coach totally earn every recruit himself?
1997–1998 LSU 9–18 2–14 6th (West)
1998–1999 LSU 12–15 4–12 6th (West)
1999–2000 LSU 28–6 12–4 1st (West) NCAA Sweet 16
2000–2001 LSU 13–16 2–14 6th (West)
2001–2002 LSU 19–15 6–10 T–4th (West) NIT 2nd Round
2002–2003 LSU 21–11 8–8 T–2nd (West) NCAA 1st Round
2003–2004 LSU 18–11 8–8 T–2nd (West) NIT 1st Round
2004–2005 LSU 20–10 12–4 T–1st (West) NCAA 1st Round
2005–2006 LSU 27–9 14–2 1st (West) NCAA Final Four
2006–2007 LSU 17–15 5–11 6th (West)
2007–2008 LSU 8–13 1–6 6th (West)
Honestly, he had 2 off years after a pretty nice run. As I recall the cupboard was hardly bare for the next guy after he left. But cJJ is in a tie for 8th place this year in a very weak year for the SEC and he is the anointed one?

I appreciated Brady, he wasn't great or anything but he realized he was third sport on campus. He realized he would rarely get much support but still networked to get the best talent available. His teams usually hustled. Trent sucked. I'm excited about CJJ! What is difficult with this?

John Brady was not a program builder. He was a basketball coach. He built basketball teams, and he was fortunate to build two pretty good ones.
Trent Johnson tried to be a prgoram builder, but he was a bad fit for LSU. He just could not recruit adequately to build the program.
Johnnie Jones appears to understand the need to build a program, and his recruiting appears to be headed in the right direction. I never doubted Jones' ability to recruit, but I had my doubts about his ability to coach having lived in Memphis when he was the head coach at Memphis. Watching LSU this season has given me confidence that Jones has improved significantly as a coach. I'm actually excited about the direction the LSU basketball program is headed.

People forget how much fun brady ball was with bad teams. People hated playing lsu because the defense was in youe face andscrappy.
When brady had expectations is when he steuggled.
Some of those mid sec finishes were strong conf years and he did good coaching jobs.
His fault for weak teams though.
After final 4 he quit trying.
Not nearly as bad as people make him out to be. They take generic lines they heard from somewhere and use them.doubt most even watched.
And ya lloreda quitting that one year killed a good team

[quote]SU is above 1 flash in the pan year due to a great influx of in-state talent that the HC's assets/friends helped get him. We all saw what happened in Brady's last couple years. His asst/friends couldn't get him a handful of talented LA kids and then with a GOOD team he tanked and got fired with no good future in recruiting. Trent freasking Johnson took that same team just about the next season and won the SEC. That was a really good team Brady had in 2007-2008 and he blew it, then blew it even further because his 2008 recruiting class was Graham, Harris and Warren. We saw what was happening and quickly made the right move. And your last statement is really ignorant. Why dont you just go ahead and tell me the winning lotto numbers Ms. Cleo.[/quote
So I guess not playing with Tasmin Mitchell at all and Chris Johnson for most is considered taking the same team, if these two guys would have been healthy Brady would have not gotten fired. It's not even close to the SAME team when you add these two guys back into the mix. Your ignorance is off the scale if you would look at it with a little bit of common sense. I guess you forgot about the 2000 SEC champs on probation. That year with Stromile and Jabari was unbelievable. People have no idea the mess Brady took over and won the SEC in his third year. Brady had some devastating injuries and NBA defections during his career here. Think about what could have been if LLoredo doesn't get hurt, that team was playing as good as anyone when he got hurt. IF bass, tyrus, stromile, big baby would have stayed one more year. Call it bad luck or whatever but for people not to give him any credit for what he did here after what he took over is truly ignorant. Trent Johnson did nothing here but take a healthy Brady team ride Marcus Thornton all year long, then proceeds to take us to the bottom of the league and the worst three year run in LSU bb history.
