A strong arm is a GREAT asset. So is touch, pre-snap reads, ability to run through progressions while under pressure and leadership. We know, for a fact, Brennan has the first of these.

Brandon Harris had a cannon too

For the past couple years we have heard about Brennan having a quick release and a cannon for an arm but i dont see why everybody has such a hard on for this. What good does a quick release and a cannon of an arm do when you have accuracy issues and ZERO finesse with the ball. He will throw the ball to a running back on a screen just a hard as he throws the ball to a receiver running a slant 15-20 yards down the field. If he gets better with accuracy and learning how when to put touch on the ball then we will have something.
Now i do know he has the tools but everybody fapping to the kid cause of his quick release and cannon of an arm is stupid when his accuracy is so hit and miss. For now enjoy watching Burrow because the chances of getting something of that caliber again may never happen again

Brennan will be a precision passer. His running isn’t like Burrow but he’s good enough there. The question will be getting his rhythm and leadership. If he nails those two he might break Burrow’s records. We ain’t comin’. We here! GEAUX TIGERS!!!

Brennan has already demonstrated far better accuracy than Harris. Brennan has to develop chemistry/timing with receivers. And decision making. Not saying he does not have that already.
My guess is Brennan does far netter then we currently expect.

While Brennan needs to put in the work this summer, our receivers need to put in the work getting used to catching fastballs over the summer. I remember watching something years ago when John Elway was playing, they would have to take the receivers in the off season and have a ball machine throw screamers at them from 10 yards away all practice just to get them accustomed to what they would be catching from Elway. Used to hurt their hands... Elway wasn't exactly a "touch" qb, but he seemed to get the job done...

THis /\
The proper touch is way more important for a pass completion.
Seldom need to ability to throw 75 yds in the air = delivering a cacheable ball is a big positive on every play.

He needs to put in some work this offseason.
Kid has played a whole quarter added up the entire season, but everyone knows he needs to put in work. Give me a break

That fastball he threw to Emery from less than 10 yards away was too hot to handle.
Clyde catches it with ease..

No doubt he can sling it. He needs to learn how to take some off of it though.

Burrow struggled with back shoulder throws last season. A new scheme, coaching and time with his primary WRs has made a world of difference. There's no reason to believe Brennan can't do the same once he gets full coaches attention and starts running with the 1's for a full offseason.

More like Brennan needs to put in work learning to throw a catchable ball. He needs to learn to put in on their hands in stride.
A cannon is good for deep outs and post routes, but most of the routes our WR's run are short, and rely on YAC.

A lot of guys have a rocket arm. But QB requires FAR, FAR more than that.

I know i know its Just warmups...but damn he got a fastball...that kid got a cannon for an arm
What impresses me more than his arm strength is how fast his release is. I had never noticed it before but in the Arky game there was a play where a d-lineman suddenly got free. He unloaded that ball like it was radioactive. Now the problem is that the pass was incomplete because he threw a fastball to a back that was about 10 feet away. When he learns to put a little touch on balls like that, he'll be special.

Harris didn't have it between the ears. Dude was rumored to have difficulty learning miles playbook. Toss dive toss dive slant pass on third and long just short of the sticks. Punt repeat
