I wasn't able to watch the game live, so i recorded it and just now got a chance to watch it all the way through. I have to say, Brandon threw a pass or two late in the second that wasn't particularly pretty, but everything else....guys, this could have been a massive blowout if the receivers actually caught the ball. It's ridiculous. The kid was on the money the vast majority of the time. We're going to be MORE than fine this year at QB.

Most people agree that the starting QB is not the problem.

The problem is a 1 dimensional scheme and receivers who cannot be counted on to consistently make plays.

I'd like to see some slants, 10-15 yard curls and some out routes. Not just swing passes or 30+ yard bombs. Give them a chance to get a rhythm going. And if these crazy good athletes can't catch, maybe change the starters. And I know it's been said in another thread, but throw Guice in the slot. Start using slants and sharp outs and let him work. He's a gifted kid with explosive playmaker written all over him.

All true. From my view in the south end zone, his throws looked really good until those couple in the second half. I don't know it looked on tv, but on two or three of the pass interference calls, it still looked like the receivers should have caught the ball.

the people in the stadium don't watch the game either. most of the ones bitching probably left at half time.

The problem isn't ALL Harris, as he'll make a few mistakes, but he does have problems. My main gripe about him was not hitting Fournette twice early on checkdowns. One that would have put it at 21-0, and another on a prior drive that would have converted a 3rd down. Under throwing the deep ball as well. Mett had problems over throwing it as a junior, then under throwing it as a senior. His pocket presence is terrible. Any pressure, and he is K.O.ed

What we need is more variety in psssing, something that can get our playmakers in space, and for them to catch the ball. And can they actually be aggressive? We have no WR with fire in them. Seems like all of our WRs are having sophomore slumps, which doesn't make a damn bit of sense.

ETA: and please utilize Guice more in the passing game. He needs about 12 touches per game, and at least 3 need to be a reception.

These were my observations, but I am no QB analyst.

I can see a wide open Fournette who could walk in for a score with a short toss but instead throwing up a jump ball to a closely covered WR in the corner of the end zone.

I like Harris, a bunch. But he is a primary route QB only, right now. Can't go through progressions...hope that talent develops soon.

I also watched it last night for the first time. Nothing about it was as bad as it sounded on here. The first three drives and defensive stands were outstanding. The rest was basic disinterest against an underestimated opponent. We'll be fine.

Who do we call to put you on coaching staff? Seriously, maybe you could start this week and we would be ready for the Florida game.
