Either Nuss is injured, Sloan has regressed as a play caller, or teams are just playing them differently and they can't hit anything over the top

OR, maybe the O-line just isn't good compared to last year, at least for pass protection.

If you change Nuss with JD or JB this offense becomes dynamic.

Exactly. Nuss has never been that good. He’s just way worse than expected this year.

The only thing I was surprised at, is that I expected him to make SOMEWHAT of a leap.

No OL, Nuss ate the poison, Sloan is a coward. Mixture of these 3.

Go back and watch the full Clemson game.

LSU is up 17-10 on a night the defense was dominant. On one of LSU's last two possessions there is a shot of BK on the sideline saying (paraphrasing) into the headset: "No. 1 (Anderson) has been making plays all night. Can we find a way to get him the ball, please?" If BK was "playing conservative so as to not make a mistake he would have been lobbying to simply run the ball and chew up the clock. He also wouldn't have been pissed at the coaching staff following the Tech game given the defense was dominant.

Justify it all you want. Sloan's offensive approach isn't good. The running game is wholly predictable and he's inefficient in generating points. Again, despite being a top 20 offense in ypg last year LSU was only ~50th in ppg....which was on par with Arkansas. The overall approach hasn't changed from last year.

There is too much talent on this offense to be so inept. Fortunately, the defense looks so good that the offense doesn't have to be tremendous to be success. But it MUST be better than this if LSU wants to win a championship. It is entirely likely that on Nov. 1 UF will be 2-5. Grinding out a win over a team like that in a game where you get FIVE interceptions and one returned for a TD is not a "strategy". It's a failure by the offensive coaching staff.

He has only been sacked 3 times and we know that's not because he takes off and runs. The O-line was pretty solid against Clemson, didn't play well against Tech, but was decent against UF in passing protection.

Nuss has just been off the last two games. He has had a number of passes that were not even close to the WR when given time. He also made a really bad choice with the Int. he threw on Saturday. So he is responsible for some of the offensive woes.

It may be similar to last year. He had games where he made really head-scratching throws, but then he had other games where he looked great. I just want to see a game where he looks great rather than what we have seen the last two games. Having a great game might be all he needs to really get going.

You can think what you want but go listen to Kelly's presser today. He made it very clear he has had to hold Sloan back because he wants to throw it all over the yard. Kelly knowing he has an elite defense in combination with Nuss being a tad banged up has the offense in 2nd gear. Kelly then went on to state their will be a time and place to open it up but it hasn't happened yet. So go argue with Kelly not me.

I'm getting tired of this narrative. Those long bomb fade routes he threw all last year, he releases the ball in about 2 seconds. The rest is the receiver running under it. He has time to make that throw. He just hasn't made it yet this year, except for Clemson game to Brown.

If it's the injury, then that explains most of it.

I really think Nuss thought he had a free play, but again, that decision and throw is 100% on him.

I agree that sounds rediculous

Our defense was arse last year. We had to be more aggressive on offense because there was no chance of our defense getting a stop when we needed it.

You serious? If the goal was to score as many points as possible you would take a ton of risk and not care what position you put your defense in. The goal is to win the game.
