His issue was not the fact he lacked boosters. It’s that he was the one making the deals. You put that on your assistants so if they get caught you can deny it and just get a slap on the wrist.

His game day coaching was at best average.
Yes I think he got a raw deal and the NCAA and media chose to focus on him rather than more prominent coaches doing similar things. But let’s not act like he was on his way to be king the Nick Saban of SEC basketball. Not even close.

They have finished top 5 in the SEC in 4 out of his 5 years and went to the NCAA tournament every year it was possible outside of his first year.
That's more consistent than any basketball coach we have ever had outside of maybe Dale Brown but even he took a while to get going.

I think you hit the nail on the head. People calling Wade “dumb” seem to think it’s a no-Brainer setting up a multi layered infrastructure between the coach and the recruit to launder the process of funneling money. They think it’s a simple as buying a burner phone from Walmart (like the FBI has never heard of anyone doing that before).
Maybe at this stage of the process, this is EXACTLY what it looks like. Ugly and hands on. How the hell do we know it’s not? Maybe it takes a really long time with a ton of booster support to build a system like Duke has.
One thing we should know for certain: if this is what it takes, a coach at LSU BETTER be doing it or he’s not going to be meeting our expectations and his butt will be out the door.

Most consistent team in the SEC the last four years not named Kentucky
Check our the recruiting class Wade had coming in to go along with what LSU was going to return. “Light years away from anything other than a Sweet 16 run” is not accurate at all.

What about Wade's coaching was smoke and mirrors?
He made great offseason adjustments and completely turned around our defensive efficiency.
He adjusted style of play this year after Miller went down to better utilize the talent we had.
What part of making 4 NCAAT's is smoke and mirrors?
What part of more SEC conference wins than any other program over the last 4 years is smoke and mirrors? Did we not win all those games? Did he pay the other teams to lose?
If we did it on talent alone, then surely LSU leads the conference in number of lottery picks over the last four years, right?
Come on, Roger, your better than this? Or maybe not.
