Was WW placed on an island by LSU?

Everyone says that every coach/school is paying players before NIL. We all agree on that.
Does the LSU BB program not have enough boosters/help in place like other schools so that the head coach is not having to facilitate all of this?
So was Wade stupid? Or, was Wade trying to play the game other schools were playing but was having to do it all by himself?
FYI...I am not a WW supporter so that is not the angle I am coming from.

Wades first year here you couldn’t give away tickets to the games. I am sure for him it was an up hill battle getting boosters to grease the wheels.

Wade was doing nothing different than any other ncaambb program, boosters included, but was very unlucky to have been brought the forefront in the FBI sting ops. That was the beginning of the end since his bagmen scrambled for cover and he was left to his own devices, like paying from a personal account.

Let me preface by saying this is all guess work by me and I have zero actual knowledge of the situation:
I think that Wade was young and didn't realize that he couldn't get away with things at a high profile school as easily as he could at a VCU or Chatanooga.
I also think that LSU didn't have the back channels set up for Basketball the way they do for football so Wade decided to deal with it himself like he had at his previous stops.
Lastly, I think that since Wade hadn't really proved himself as a coach yet, he needed to be the one recruiting kids, not the assistants. Coach K or Coach Cal can send an assistant because they have skins on the wall. Wade could only get past that advantage by telling the recruit that the HC at LSU is recruiting him and Duke or Kentucky or whoever is only sending assistants.

LSU has not had an active booster network in place for some time for basketball. Not since John Brady was the coach and he screwed up after the 06 season.
