O is not a good coach and didn’t realized the only way we could of lost was to score a TD there. Mind you probably under 2 percent chance but two kneel downs and game is over

bullshite. If LSU won every game ugly, 2-0, they would be national champs.

Orgeron had money on LSU to cover. The offense is pissed about his comment last week about needing to recruit better players. They knew Orgeron had money on LSU to cover. They refused to score to cover the spread just to frick him over.

End of discussion. That is what happened.

I don’t know if any of that is true but it makes for a hell of a story so I’m going with it.

NO it was stupid to pull up. We would have been 2 TD's ahead with 30 seconds and no time outs for ARK. STUPID

I agree w Nick, but O was probably thinking about point differential & bowl projections along w the fact that they weren’t going to come back in a few seconds.

Score.

We should have scored and not taken a fall/knee, IMO. We were only 7 points ahead and a TD with so little time left would have ended the game.

no, two knees would've ended the game. Scoring a TD gives the ball back to Arky.

Brossette did as he was coached to do.
I doubt this is true. If O didn't want to score, why not take a knee. Handing off and letting Brossette run and get tackled is WAY more risk than taking a knee.

I think Nick just decided on his own (I agree with what he did), but it makes it all the more bizarre.

The scenarios for a no timeout Arkansas team having less than a minute to score twice are ludicrous. There were two much more important earlier plays: not going for the field goal and Vincent's stupid taunting penalty.
A ludicrous scenario doesn't mean an impossible scenario.

I don't assume there was anything corrupt or malicious going on, just Brossette doing the right thing to guarantee the win and the staff trying to look better overall. The time to look good against an 0-season arky is quarters 1-3. Not closing plays of the game. That made the staff look like petty fools.

I just can't agree with this. Though I do agree that there wasn't any kind of conspiracy behind what happened.

I don't believe, at all, that trying to score at the end makes them look like petty fools. They needed to make the final score look as respectable as they possibly could. Yes, they absolutely should have done more throughout the game, but the fact is that they failed to do so, and that sequence at the end of the game was a chance to put a little extra distance on the scoreboard.

Why was it important? I know people like to poo poo any talk of making the playoffs, because they think LSU "doesn't deserve it" or "they'd just get killed by Bama again", but as a coaching staff, your responsibility is to put your team in the best position to get as far as you can. LSU has three 1 loss teams behind them in the CFP poll. LSU has to not only win, but win impressively to stay ahead of them. Last night was clearly not impressive.

It is not far fetched to believe that Michigan, Oklahoma and Georgia will all lose ahead of LSU. But if LSU falls behind West Virginia, Washington State and Ohio State, then it becomes a near impossible scenario. That's why it was important to try to make the score look a little better last night. And Brossette decided on his own that the points weren't important enough. Sometimes, doing what he did would be a very smart play. This was not one of those times, IMO.

Most are too young to remember this

The board melt would have exceeded Notre Dame 4th and 1 levels.

The second slide should not have happened - communication error or not.

Or just point shaving. Score the fn 6 pts and seal it.
