re: Kenedy County Texas

County is mostly private land via the King Ranch. Some of the best hunting land in Texas though. There are other, adjacent counties down there with very sparse populations though.

This x 1000. Stay at one of the downtown Ft Worth hotels. It's a 20 minute drive to Arlington.
FYI - McDonald is a 3 hr drive from Big Bend and you'll need a reservation.
As far as hiking, Emory Peak via Pinnacles is hard to beat. If your kids don't something quite that strenous, Laguna Meadows is not bad. The Emory-related trails are open after a fire closed them in late spring.

Working for Bama for now...
I think NIL will level the playing field somewhat. Just look at some of the wealthiest fanbases. This is a list of the Top 20 schools as measured by the total estimated wealth of ultra-high net worth alumni:
Stanford - $2.9T (a distribution of over 5500 individuals)
Univ of Michigan - $691B
Southern Cal - $548B
Texas - $463B
Northwestern - $389B
UCLA - $375B
Miami - $309B
Univ of Virginia - $246B
Notre Dame - $179B
Link to the article below. BTW, UHNW is defined as individuals with a net worth of over $30mm. This list was based upon those individuals only. Additionally, just think about all of the non-UHNW millionaires big-enrollment schools like Texas, Ohio State, and Texas A&M produce.
If one of the top schools on this list wants to be a contender, they now have NIL as a tool in their bag to get to the top echelon. Arguably, none of the schools on this list is currently a contender (unless you consider ND) – good programs but not contenders.
If the number is now $2mm for a top-tier QB, what happens when someone like Michael Dell drops $10-15mm on that kid? May be more difficult for schools in poorer states (and less affluent fan bases) to compete.

Memorial Day I presume?
You will need reservations for all of these.
1. Garner - if Memoral Day is your time frame, you won't likely get in. Most popular state park in Texas and worth the reputation.
2. Enchanted Rock - good day-trip park, especially with kids in tow.
3. Lost Maples - good in spring/early summer, great in the fall.
4. Pedernales Falls - not sure how high the water is right now, but in some ways resembles Garner.
5. Inks Lake - another great family park IMO. Various types of watercraft rentals available.

More days in Ouray and less days in Telluride. More to do (off road, hiking) and Ouray is more rustic. Telluride is overgrown and over rated.
This.
Rent a jeep in Ouray and drive Imogene Pass, Ophir Pass, and Engineer Pass. I'd avoid Black Bear if you're not used to 4W trails in SW CO.
JNJ, PFE, and MRNA - all likely pretty similar efficacy when it's all said and done.
Consider this:
-Mean age of JNJ trial participants = 69.9
-Mean age of MRNA trial participants = 51.4
-Median age of PFE trial of participants = 52.0 - keep in mind this is median, not mean. Also, 57% of participants were below the age of 55.
Also to consider:
-JNJ trial - Black/Latino/Native American percent of total participants = 73%
-MRNA trial - B/L/NA percent of total = 35%
-PFE trial - B/L/NA percent of total = 37% (study did not report NA numbers)
Finally consider geography:
-JNJ trial - 15% of participants were from South Africa
-MRNA trial - no South African participants noted in study
-PFE trial - 2% of participants were from South Africa
JNJ trial also had a higher incidence of patients with comoridities than that of PFE and MRNA.
Bottom line. Comparing studies is comparing apples and oranges as it is in this instance.

If you've never driven on a snow-packed road before, Rabbit Ears Pass is not the place to learn. You can check road conditions at www.cotrip.org prior to leaving for your trip to CO.

The smell of outboard exhaust as you're idling away from the boat dock before sunrise.
The deadline for receiving a mail-in or absentee ballot was 10/27 for both PA and NC. So election officials already know the exact number of outstanding ballots in both states.
Disappointing that we may not know the results in either of these states for a few days, but at least we won't see the Dems manufacturing new ballots once they know the election results as they stand on 11/3.

This is insane. They can manufacture the votes they need to the exact # after they know what happened on election day. A post mark machine is $2000. They will cheat, cheat, cheat.
Most likely this is a non-issue. Requests for ballots in NC must be received by 10/27 (yesterday!). So election officials will know going into election night on 11/3 exactly how many ballots are outstanding. Therefore, it won't matter how many fake ballots Dems want to create.
I suspect NC could be called for the R's on election night based on a finite number of outstanding ballots - the total number of which would not close the gap for Biden. So based upon 2016 election results, Team Biden better have requested at least an additional 173,000 fake ballots by yesterday.
Possible that fraud could steal NC, but not likely.

Seminole Canyon State Park. I think there are Park Ranger tours available that include petroglyph sites if you're interested. Not sure about the status of this due to COVID.
Regarding Amistad, there used to be a boat rental place out of Rough Canyon (NE quadrant of lake). Googled it and found Lake Amistad Rentals (out of Rough). I don't think boat rentals are currently available on Amistad along the Hwy 90 corridor.
A couple of important notes here...If you did end up renting a boat at Rough Canyon, it is a massively long boat ride from Rough to the area you are likely interested in seeing - the petroglyphs on the western end of the lake (near the Pecos River). I suspect that is a 35-40 mile boat ride one way. You will need plenty of time and gas for that ride. Also, if it's windy, the middle part of the lake (marker 8-12) can be treacherous.
The other issue is the lake a very low right now (46-47 ft ) meaning there are some serious navigational hazards all over the lake - lake is mostly limestone bottom.
My recommendation is to call a local fishing guide for a tour at a discount rate. Normal daily rates for fishing are $400-$450. You can probably get a tour for half that.

Telluride is very expensive relative to most other resorts in CO. That being said, it was worth every penny as it was the best ski experience I've had anywhere in the US - have been skiing/snowboarding for over 30 years.
The mountain village is great - most places in the MV made it just a short walk (many places within 100 yards) to the gondola. You don't need a car in the MV since the gondola can take you over the mountain into Telluride proper. There is also a decent amount of infrastructure in the MV accessible by the gondola.
The terrain in the resort gives you anything you want - plenty of blue/black skiiing as well as more difficult terrain such as Backiron Bowl. Plenty of varied terrain without long lift lines. I was there post-Christmas, and I never had to wait over 5 minutes in a line.
Plenty of good restaurants in the town of Telluride. Also plenty of places to stay in town if you deem the MV too pricey.
Resort is difficult as a drive destination, but there are flights to Montrose from airports like DIA and DFW.
