They say the only stupid questions are the ones not asked, but you managed to prove em all wrong.

It was dumb when people two years ago on here tried to say the Tommy White walk off was bigger than Morris.

This is just asinine.

You have a point but it just felt like that atmosphere was more electric last night than at a CWS game.

over 24,000 in a stadium watching the most improbable ending possible to a damn good Championship game

vs

maybe 4,000 still in attendance watching the ending to a regular season (big game, but still a regular season game) game.

I get the excitement from last night, but these are not even in the same universe for multiple reasons.

1. NATIONAL CAMPIONSHIP VS regular season. Natty trumps everything.
2. Morris was injured most of the year, plus facing Morrison an all American pitcher, so his homer was completely unexpected (I think it might have even been his only one of the year). Where as, you think every time Jones gets to bat, there's a chance.
3. LSU was losing to Miami when Morris hit his, so it was win or go home. If Jones doesn't hit one, LSU is still playing the next inning.
4. As petty at the Vols are, not a single one laid down face first in the field and cried because they lost.

It will take not a walk off hit, but a come from behind walk off homer in Game 3 of the National championship series to rival or top Morris'. Though Jones' was an absolute bomb, and it couldn't have happened to a better team.

1. Morris walk off to win Omaha in 96.

2. White walk-off in Omaha against Wake Forest.

3. Jones walk-off at The Box to completely destroy the defending national champions leading to a fricking sweep in conference play 4-26-25.

Are you comparing the only time in the history of the CWS, a player (who was batting 9th and hit his first home run of the season) hitting a walk off home run to win the national championship to a player who is built for HR power hitting a walk off HR in a conference game during the regular season?

Holy shite I don't understand how some people who post on this board function in life.

One will be interviewed every year as we approach the CWS. One isn’t known about by 85% of college baseball.
