Are you aware that you have a choice? You can donate to LSU instead of LSU Athletic Department. I’ll make it easy, go to www.lsufoundation.org and select from numerous options. Before you do that, go to your company’s website and search “matching donations”. If your company matches, you will have the opportunity to increase your donation to LSU.

If that scenario applies to you, think of it this way...your company is giving YOU the option to determine where they donate and YOU are competing for those funds against your co-workers.

FWIW...if you attempt to get “matching funds” directed to TAF, companies will typically reject that donation.

If your goal is to send a message to Joe Alleva, that would be a win/win.

I have stopped. Got a private message from this site Adminstrator to get me to stop posting negative stuff about being done.

I used to give a substantial amount of money to LSU on the academic side. I have stopped that as well after reading about some
of the incompetence of FKing.

My opinion only.

You'll be donating again. And soon, too.

The problem is people that have 20-30 years invested in season tickets for all 3 major men’s sports aren’t stopping donations to start over and get in the back of the line. I know I’m not as much as I want Alleva gone.

You guys are going after the wrong guy. Alleva sucks, but nothing will change until F King Alexander is out. That’s the guy that should be feeling the brunt of the pressure.

I have been in at least 4 presentations with F King Alexander extolling the virtues of LSU to parents of current or prospective students. If he gave a bad speech to the legislative hearing, it must be a rare occasion. My wife and I both were taken by how good a communicator and spokesman for LSU he was. The most common theme in remarks I heard from other parents were along the lines of “the guy sure knows how to talk up his school” and “that guy sure makes his points well”.

Alleva has had issues with controlling the narrative regarding LSU athletics on multiple occasions. I can see people thinking he sucks because I’m pretty sure he does. But F King seems to be a great communicator, on average, to me. Also, in the last 2 years LSU has had 2 consecutive record breaking years, in terms of size, average test scores, and average GPA of the incoming freshman class.

Why would you have gotten a private message from a fan message board moderator to stop telling people that you're not donating to do University?

See, this is the kind of shite that has all the fans and alumni pissed off and paranoid and why we claim that the athletic department is running a grassroots PR campaign via tigerdroppings and shilling for the administration to save their jobs.

I'm an LSU grad and I think LSU is a great school, but anytime you establish metrics, people will begin to do whatever possible to improve those metrics... teachers and professors letting students drop their lowest test score and only taking the best 3 is an example.

That would be the opposite of grassroots. It’s the textbook definition of astroturfing.

I donated enough to keep my tickets but they got the minimal donation from me as far as my TAF contribution. It was much lower than it has been for the last 10 years. I know it won't do much but I feel it is me doing my part for the poor leadership being shown in our athletic dept and our university.

Alleva sucks and should have never been allowed in a university setting after the Duke mess. There's been numerous problems (many recently reported), along with the hideous new admission standards under FKing's watch; then you have the BOS appointed by the Governor this state elected. The problems at LSU is a trickle-down effect of the state of the state.

Teachers did that back when I was at LSU in 1980-81.

I was in the LSU Student Union Theater yesterday, there was a panel discussing some of the differences from when parents were in school. One of the things they discussed was an emphasis on, with buy in from faculty, helping students progress rather then spewing out info and essentially saying you’re on your own now.

A lot of teachers did that in the past as well, but more than a few acted like the were trying to prove they were smarter than the students. So no real weed out type classes, which I think is not a bad thing. Less of an adversarial relationship for Freshman students.
