As he should. Lane doesn’t owe Howard anything but a chance to compete same as we did. Lane has a job to field the best team and if he can get a better qb then he should. Howard hasn’t proved anything and to me, the only thing he has proven to this point is that he isn’t ready and didn’t look all that good honestly.

Then let me revise. I'm not going to ridicule a MAN for making a decision he thinks is best for his life...even if I may think it is an unwise decision.

This decision deserves every bit of ridicule for everything that went into it.

Because he was a true freshman coming off of an injury.

And the LSU staff granted he and his family's wishes, rehabbed him, and we should just hand him the QB2 spot. You and your ilk of contrarian posters have no basis in your arguments. It's quite comical!

Nuss isn't a big QB by normal standards, but he makes Walker look small. I think his lack of size may be a problem for him during his career from a durability stand point. He doesn't have a frame to add lots of weight to. Same problem Corral had. He stayed beat up in Kiffin's offense which features a lot of QB runs.

ask Joe Burrow, Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, Jalen Hurts, Caleb Williams, Justin Fields, etc, etc, etc.

I guess you could then say how many kids that transferred out to play for a coach not named Lincoln Riley have had success. That' cuts your list down to Burrow and Fields

Ultimately, it has to be a combination of right player, right coach. Burrow with Ensminger fully running the show was a very average SEC QB. Is Fields a 1st round pick if he stays at UGA? Probably not given OSU's offensive approach has allowed several QBs to have great success there, whereas Georgia really hasn't (or at least at that time).

So far at Ole Miss Kiffin has had one transfer starting QB...Dart. He was ok, but not special by any means. Maybe Howard/Kiffen is the perfect combination. Maybe it isn't. But really other than Lincoln Riley there isn't guaranteed success for transfer QBs

What should a third string, true freshman QB who was redshirting have been doing at practice instead?
Him transferring wasn’t about last year it’s about this year. How hard is that to understand?

People leave jobs everyday to put themselves in a better position.

What are the chances that Lane signs some stud QB next year out of HS or a more experienced QB through the portal and screws Howard over? LOL. You know it will happen.

Every coach everywhere is looking and wanting more better players. Iron sharpens iron. They don't turn down players because they have one at the position.

If Brian Kelly has a chance at the best QB in America through the portal he is taking him.

This isn't new.

It says he did not expect to beat out JD and Nuss and possibly a younger Collins and potentially Hurley.

Exactly, so what are we losing? We're in a better position with Nuss post Daniels.
