If you would have asked be before WH entered the portal would you rather see Nuss or WH leave LSU for a rival SEC team I probably would have come to the conclusion that I would rather see WH leave.
Talent wise I would judge Nuss and WH about even but I really don't know that. That judgement is based on very limited tape on WH and most of it is high school tape. Everyone knows Nuss has an NFL arm. He just has to improve his decision making process to get to the upper echelon of college football QBs.
But in terms of the LSU QB room and QB succession, WH is the best choice to enter the portal.
'23 JD/Nuss, with Collins doing scout team.
'24 Nuss/Collins, with Hurley doing scout team.
'25 too far out to predict.
WH probably felt he was the odd man out.

Idk why y’all are so upset about losing a guy that was so shitty and couldn’t beat out a wet paper napkin according to the rant, I don’t get it you should be happy he’s gone amirite

What a fall from grace. He went from The Chosen One to the next insufferable Ole Miss QB. I haven't seen a heel turn like this since Anakin Skywalker joined the dark side.
I had a feeling something like this would happen. When Jayden Daniels came in with two years of eligibility and got the starting job the writing was on the wall. There was no way LSU was going to keep all three. I figured Nuss would be the one to transfer though because Howard was supposed to be the truth. Oh well, all aboard the Nuss Bus!

No one should be upset. He didn't want to compete here which says more about him than LSU. There's literally handfuls of upper echelon QB's in the portal every year. Recruiting high school QB's has never been less important.

It's a valid point. If you have the talent it's going to shine through in practice and if you are that much better than the rest of the QB room there is no way the coaches can keep you off the field if they are being objective and want to win. But WH continued to run the scout team.

I was shocked at how shitty Howard looked in the bowl game. It was like he didn’t practice all year.

Could've went to any school in the country and chose Ole Piss?
You can't make this shite up.

LSU fans are the worst… good luck to the young man… until he plays LSU…..

It tells me the LSU QB room is more talented than what WH currently has to offer. No way CBK is letting WH run the scout team if he is objectively more talented to beat out JD and Nuss.

He's just following in the footsteps of his boyhood hero Robert Lane (whose dad also played for LSU).

Howard not sticking around to compete says a whole lot, even if he says nothing at all.

Because he didn’t practice all year. He was stuck running scout team on a separate field away from the rest of the team, and looked like he was going to be doing the same thing this year, which is why he left.

No other program wanted him.
Florida would have given him anything he wanted to save their shitty QB situation
According to one of the UF 247 mods, Napier reached out but Howard didn't even want to visit, he "didn’t want to go to a place where he just felt like emergency relief and wasn't prioritized earlier"

It says he did not expect to beat out JD and Nuss and possibly a younger Collins and potentially Hurley.
