Your comment reflects poor coaching. It is his job to prevent lazy play. No recourse from him all year.

There isn’t a player on this team that makes other players better.

Think about that.

C'mon man, this team hasn't quit. They are who they have shown to be.
They are front runners. Any adversity they fold.
They play no defense. Their O is their D. They need Days hitting open looks, and lately he hasn't.

This same exact thread would’ve been downvoted to oblivion after beating a team like South Carolina, although this team and coach have always been what they are

Wade needs to hire a bench coach that knows what he’s doing because he obviously needs help.

The other coaches aren’t getting it done either.

Agree. Today really did it for me. He can recruit, but can't coach or motivate. The effort from any team reflects the coach, and this is piss poor.

Definitely. I'm not defending the coaching staff at all. However, there's only so much a coach can do but not sure if WW is doing anything. With that said, a coach can't MAKE the players play hard. The lack of effort by this team is maddening.

They’ve quit. That’s EXACTLY what the Georgia game was.

This scenario happened in the Simmons year. LSU was leading the SEC (or in second place). They then play a bad Tenn. team and get blown out seemingly out of nowhere. The rest of the year they just go trough the motions with their best players checking out from a team perspective...ultimately falling out of the NCAAT and declining a NIT bid because their “stars” don’t feel like wasting their time. All while the HC looks lifeless and helpless.

Have you ever seen Wade this disengaged? He knows this isn’t a “team” and that selfishness/jealousy, laziness had fully set in. He won’t say that, of course, but you’ll hear it this summer when the epilogue is written about the most disappointing team since 15-16 and one of the most disappointing teams in 2 decades. Disappointing not because of the overall record. Disappointing because of falling WOEFULLY short of reaching their potential

It is odd. His first two teams seem to be very mentally and physically tough. They were able to fight back when they got down and never really got blown out, except in rare occasions. It seems like the last two years his teams are extremely soft.

It almost makes me wonder whether he feels like he has had to change his coaching style in order to convince top level talent to come to LSU.

He will essentially be starting over with a new core next year, he has got to rebuild that toughness or else he will not make it.

His teams at both Chattanooga and VCU were good defensive teams and physically tough teams. The sweet 16 team two years ago made it living on the offensive glass, this team has zero interest in rebounding on either end of the floor.

He hasn’t lost me yet, but I am very concerned after seeing the same issueTwo years in a row now.

Will Wade is not worth the shite he’s put LSU through.

The Ben Simmons comparison is spot on. Makes you wonder what he promised Wolford to come back and what he promised Thomas to get him here. Seems like he’s sold himself that these guys would essentially have no accountability for shot selection, effort or anything else. I would rather see this team being built in quality for star players, then have to give away all the accountability just to get a five star in the program.

Agree that players must give the effort, but lack of effort reflects coaching. Especially, when it is consistently bad. Good coaches respond to poor effort until it is corrected. Wade doesn't. Today, is the first day that I am in the "get rid of Wade" camp.

I got crucified for questioning Wade’s coaching ability over the last few weeks. He has us somewhat relevant again but he can’t do anything other than that.

Agreed but you can't place the blame entirely on him. This is a frustratingly lazy and lackadaisical team.
thats because the coach allows it.

I don’t understand the “energy” argument. How are 6 guys supposed to play with their hair on fire for 40 minutes at that pace? Maybe Wade could try using the bench a little instead of having 4 starters play 35+ minutes and that might help sustain the “energy”.

He is going to MASSIVELY underachieve with his “most talented team.”

No doubt, it's talented, but 2018's team had Waters, Naz, Mays, Bigby-Williams, Emmitt Williams, Marlon Taylor along with the guys on this team like Smart and Days. That roster was loaded. Waters, Naz and Mays are currently playing in the NBA and Naz is averaging double digits for his career so far. That team was extremely athletic. Waters was a true point guard who was a way better overall player than a guy like Cam who is great at scoring, but not much else.

This team has had stretches where they have looked really good and it seemed like the light was coming on (like the three dominant games before the Georgia collapse), but then they fall into old habits. Just inconsistent without many in-game adjustments. For instance, Days should have been sent down low after he was 0-5 on 3s. Instead he ended the game 0-8 on 3s with not one 2-point attempt and only 2 rebounds.
