Who are you talking about?

Tennessee doesn’t care about winning, as evidenced by the contract they’re offering him and the $35MM of investment in their facilities they promised.

It’s no secret Woodward does not mind overpaying for coaches. I’m still on the fence and haven’t bought all of the hype about AD Woodward.
What do you care how much these coaches are paid? If COVID proved anything, there is an endless supply of booster money when it comes to hiring and firing coaches. I’ve never understood fans that cared how much other people are willing to pay for a coach.
When ADs try to cut corners and save money, you wind up with Boom and McElwain at Florida and Charlie Strong at Texas. You get Johnny Jones at LSU.
Woodward has been here for two years. So far he’s moved on from a disaster of a WBB coach and replaced her with arguably a top five all time coach, and the second best coach currently in the game.
Also, do you think it’s any coincidence that, after Orgeron’s disaster hiring spree following 2019 that suddenly the shite coaches are being purged, and nationwide searches are taking place, and solid, qualified candidates are filling the positions after multiple candidates are vetted behind closed doors and interviewed?

We only go after top notch women's basketball coaches

Are you sure?

That's chump change. Florida just built Sully a $65 million stadium.

We may see the return of the two way player under Godwin.
And a proactive approach to recruiting jucos.

Preferring Godwin over Schlossnagle is crazy to me.

I don't like Schlossnagle. If the people in the athletic dept were tired of dealing with Mainieri, it won't get any better under Schlossnagle.

I've accepted that whoever the replacement is going to be is already a done deal. There has been no mention from any coach being approached, which always happens. This means that either their top or second choice accepted and we will find out who it is as soon as their team is eliminated from the NCAA tournament

None of those seem like baseball reasons.

The baseball reason is that his staff will be more important to the program than he is.

There might be an agreement in principle, but nothing will be finalized until their season is over. If "our guy" goes on an insane run in Omaha then you get in a bidding war with his current school.

He doesn't have the chest to coach at a place like LSU. That's why he is staying at Tennessee where they don't really care if they win or lose in baseball
Like LSU when Skip got it going, lack of football success is causing UT and their fans to get bigly into baseball. They are starved for success wherever they can find it. They will do whatever it takes to keep Vitello.

I've always thought he was a very good coach. I'll stick by that.
But, the idea that you'll be hating another head coach for what will likely be a significant stretch does make me smile.
