Ole Miss rb Lacy has 20 yes 20 rushing tds on the year… if you take out the SLU game lsu has scored 19 touchdowns on the season….. Oklahoma game was the best reason to bring the best playcaller in America. Lane brings about elite offense the resources at OM and FAU are laughable in comparison to LSU. Y’all gonna judge CLK off jobs he had over 10 years ago??? These are the glory days man celebrate!!

These people are just parroting shite they heard. He won Conference USA twice in his 3 years at FAU

You got to start somewhere most hc’s who win “haven’t won anything”.. its such a dumb statement.
You really don’t even want who won something you want the hungry man looking to take that next step. You want to take it with him.

The current college coaches that have won a natty are Dabo, Ryan Day, and Kirby Smart.
Dabo might be getting a little stale at Clemson, but I'd rather have Kiffin, and the other 2 are not obtainable.

Nick Saban hadn't "won anything" at age 50 either.

How many coaches on our short list had won anything?
We aren't getting Ryan Day or Kirby Smart. I doubt we could get Dabo Swinney, even if we wanted him.
So that argument doesn't make much sense. Kiffin has never coached at a school that can consistently provide him the talent he needs to win National Championships.
Kiffin seems to be particularly well adapted to the modern NIL environment and getting kids on campus. If he can get playoff level talent to come to Oxford, MS, he can sure as hell get them to Baton Rouge.

People also like to forget that he had USC with a good enough record to play in the conference title game (they had the best record in the south divison of the pac 12) but they were ineligible due to the Reggie Bush stuff. He was coaching/recruiting while having to get players who knew they couldnt play for anything past the regular season.
The NCAA gave the usc team/players an exception to transfer without sitting out a year due to those sanctions (which was a massive deal back then). On top of taking away scholarships. He dealt with that all through out his time there.
Thats a huge hole in the narrative of he hasnt won anything.

He’s 0-5 vs Alabama in his career. I’d rather try someone that hasn’t gotten a chance yet to fail, than a guy that has failed numerous times.
You just hired an older version of Lincoln Riley with a worse resume. And you paid him like he’s the best coach in college football. Anyone defending this is a homer

Yeah it’s impossible to get talent at USC…..lol.
It’s impossible to pay guys a salary to attend Ole Miss…
This site must be infested with bots. First it was the Kelly homers that would pump sunshine 24/7, and now it’s the Lane bots

And NOBODY said shite when in his 2nd season, a 64 year old Cignetti who also hasn't won any damn thing, got an 11 mill a year extension at frigging Indiana of all places. Everybody had nothing but praise and admiration. Do you think they would have hated if Kiffin got 12 mill from Ole Miss after making the playoffs? No. They would have sung his praises saying how much of a changed man he was. They would have made ballads and ran fluff peices all damn offseason.

just think if we hadn't hired saban because he hadn't won anything!!!!!!

The fact that there are only 3 active CFB head coaches with national titles is pretty remarkable when you think about it. (Well.. I guess 4 if you count Belichick but I digress..)
To me, the takeaway is that every candidate carries risk. Lane was the safest bet on LSU’s list. He also carries the highest price tag, for that reason.
Does that mean he’ll turn out to be the best available coach this cycle? Who knows. Statistically speaking, you could argue that the odds are against it. But again.. that applies to every single candidate.

Well that’s not true.
I, for one, said it was pretty wild to give him an 8-year, $90+ million extension after his first win over a team that would finish ranked.

Goes to show that you don't need HC experience to be a very successful HC... It's just a matter of picking the right coordinator.

USC he had to deal with a postseason ban and a dock in scholarships due to the Reggie Bush nonsense, on top of his players being given a waiver to leave and play immediately without sitting out a year like you used to have to
Ole Miss he had a lot of success?? He gave Ole Miss the best string of seasons in its history

Add Dietzel to that list

From all of this I gather that Lane Kiffin will win the National championship next year purely because he is now head coach of LSU. Same was said about BK when he signed on.
