I think Faulk, Whitworth, Dorsey, Burrow and Daniels need their jerseys in the stadium.

Whitworth. Never an All-American. Never any post-season awards. Probably won’t make it into the College Football Hall of Fame. He was a great NFL player, and probably will end up in Canton.

Story is similar to Tittle’s in that they both made their biggest bones in the NFL, and people tend to inflate their college careers by what they did in the pros.

I can agree with that sentiment. His longevity in the NFL created a recency bias. He was a good player on a championship team.

How many jerseys are we going to retire? We already have so many duplicate numbers it’s ridiculous. Believe it or not, it didn’t used to be that way. We shouldn’t retire anyone’s jersey. Do a ring of honor or something like that. And yes, Faulk should be up there.

we wouldn't need so many duplicates if WRs would wear 80-89 and DL/LBs would stick to their more traditional jersey numbers.

the duplicate jersey numbers are a pet peeve of mine. you'll probably have to do some, but stuff like Fulton and Chase both wearing 1... I HATE it

eta: also, no football player should ever wear #9 again. others, I'm willing to debate either way.

what’s with this trend btw? Receivers are allergic to the 80’s now
has to be below 20 or its a no go for them

They should put up a Statue of each coach that won a National Title.

I love, love Kevin Faulk but this is ridiculous. He made 1st team All-American once. No natty, no SEC championship. He had a long NFL career and got a few rings with the Pats, but they got more without him and he made zero Pro-Bowls.

C'mon bruh...

Rushing yards: Ranked second in SEC history with 4,557 yards rushing in 41 games

Burrow won title despite having O on the sidelines
Dorsey won title despite having Miles on the sidelines
Daniels could have won title had House not been on the sidelines or in the booth

This is fricking crazy, absolutely fricking crazy. Kevin Faulk should have had his name in that stadium years ago.

numbers that big need too much fabric. makes them heavier and slows down WRs

I don’t see how he’s a shoo in but fournette isn’t even a thought

And Lenny was dealing with zero passing game and had another stud running back on the team

Florida didn't even retire Tebow's number.

Florida did retire Steve Spurrier's number 11. He un-retired it when he became Head Ball Coach.

That's a lot of the reason Florida didn't retire Tebow's #15.

Under long standing university policy, numbers are retired for players who were recognized as national player of the year and had graduated from LSU, which in football would limit pending retirements to Joe Burrow's #9 and Jayden Daniels' #5.

Basketball broke that policy with the retirement of Rudy Macklin's #40, and have added Chris Jackson/Mahmoud Abdul-Raof's #35 (IIRC, they waited to hang Shaq's #33 until he finished a degree, and he got both the same weekend.)

We’re retiring Jerseys not numbers…smh. The only number that’s retired is Cannon’s
