one win vs bama and they are all of a sudden the team to watch out for. I do think they are a team you need to show up for but should still be a team we beat by 2-3 scores.

Don't kid yourself or let stats have you think otherwise!
Vandy is good, has an intelligent mobile QB that LSU has struggled with in the past!
They will be pumped and until LSU can show they can run and move the ball, Vandy will be in the game!

Our D will have to continue to show up and shut the Vandy QB down.
We will have to run the ball and Nuss willl have to protect the ball.

This is anyone's game IMHO!!!

I remember thinking the same thing about Ole Miss.

Then I made the mistake of watching Ole Miss needed some really horrendous officiating to beat freaking Washington State.

Vegas thinks our QB will make enough mistake to keep this game close. Let's be honest. That is what this is all about.

Vandy is ranked because of the SEC bump. There's been similar threads going around of other teams w same records w better wins who aren't ranked.

And the end of the day it's fricking Vandy. There is no comparison of talent on both rosters.

We should win. End of story.

It actually is how they do it. The spread represents what Vegas thinks the bettors think; it is not what Vegas thinks.

So you agree that they are a team to watch out for?

Go prove it

they had Alabama tied at half and fumbled in the redzone at least once I think twice

that game was way closer than score indicates

Sports media loves a darling & Vandy fits that bill.

Except Vegas isn’t playing along & installed the Tigahs as an underdog, but they won’t let little facts like that get in the way of their narrative.
Sports media is stupid and new age gamblers are just as dumb. Nobody with common sense would tell you to take Vandy. Sellers only played a sliver of that game and went 6/7 for 94 yards. Their backup is Luke Doty. This kid has been playing since 2020 at South Carolina. His first 3 years he played at QB. His previous 2 years he played WR, and this year he is the backup QB. I said it before that they have no offensive talent around Sellers, so how do you think an irrelevant backup is going to fare?

Vandy will be lucky to score 17 and LSU wins by 14 or more.

The public is betting LSU but more money is being bet on Vandy.
So the insiders like Vandy

They are 2.5 point favorites. Wake up. This isn’t going to be an easy victory.

We did play Southeastern,

A solid FCS team whose strength is their defense.

They would compete with some of the teams on Vandy’s schedule imho. They would lose, but it would competitive.

We held him to 17 last year with a defense that was below average for LSU standards.

So why are they favored? It looks almost as if LSU had played Southeastern 4 times this season. But Vandy is favored, so Vegas really likes their chances Saturday

Pavia got hurt the week before v. South Carolina. He was still hobbling for the LSU game.

This year we'll see Pavia at full capacity. I think he'll take off running a few times Saturday

Would love to see a tigers win but do not share in some of y'all's optimism. When offensive line is your weakness, going on the road against ranked opponent is not favorable.
Disagree with OP's take on Vandy as well. They turned the ball over twice in RedZone @Bama and still made a game of it till then end.
They are at home after a bye.
IMO this is must win territory for Tigahs.

They were outgained 486-333, so the score is fairly indicative of how close (or not) it was. Bama drive to the Vandy 29 on their first possession, then threw an INT. They missed a FG on their 2nd possession. They scored on every possession but one after that, though they did have to settle for 3 FG. So, yes, Vandy did have 2 red zone turnovers, but still scored 14 points in 4 scoring opportunities. Alabama scored 30 in 8 scoring opportunities. Maybe it should have been 45-24 instead of 30-14, but it wasn’t close either way.
