If I’m usc I would worry about on field performance
The hype videos were incredible but the season LSU was having was what raised the bar on every video

This is how champion machines roll! Two leave 15 apply! Glad they got opportunities but truth is DP found them and will find 2 more

Congratulations and good luck to both.
How about hiring the person that did the Nuss commitment video.

I believe Cody Worsham wrote the videos. If true, the videos should remain standout.

but come on. its a highlight video.
true, but there has to be more going on here since USC hasn't had a highlight since 2005.

Uh.....I doubt he is going to USC to do hype videos there for a life long career. It is a foot in the door in Hollywood.

i say this in no way to knock the work that these guys have done, but the only thing they did was add a version of cinematic scope and narrative to the highlight videos, something sports docs and commercials have been doing for years.
This is true for just about every form of art and other things

so on a creativity level, it is completely replicable.
Creativity is what separates the good and the bad so I am not sure what you are saying. The videos they put out were trending on twitter for a reason. I personally never seen highlight videos like them. Yes they used a formula of a highlight video but it was their creativity that separated them.

they didn't write the videos, so I would maintain that the strongest part of the video was the storytelling, someone who appreciated the history of the LSU program, and knew how to weave it together in a way that made sense for our program and connect to our fans. If they did write the videos, then i'd fear their loss more.
additionally, i'm saying is that they took a cinematic documentary look and applied it to what normally would be a throwaway and disposable video. for the most part, that type of production value would be wasted on a video that would become obsolete in a week. it is our crazy hungry fans that made them a success-- much in the same way that this website is one of the most heavily trafficked on the internet.
the onset of cheap (less than 1k) HD cameras AND glut of high def footage and quick editing AND the rabid viewing and consumption of our fanbase AND the historic and building perfection of our team made it worth it. What they did from a practical standpoint wasn't creative, it is easy.
you don't make that video at Vanderbilt. because no one would give a shite. if LSU loses at bama, the story is done. no one cares about the making of a legend after the legend falls. local celebrities don't come out and do voice overs for an 8-3 team.
I only added what I said not to knock the guys, but to maintain the whys of why they are replaceable. they rode a perfect storm into new jobs, and I wish them well.

I don’t blame Stout and Brown. If they’re trying to get into film, LA is the place to be.
We will be OK. We still have DP and The Binder!

We had the most magical season ever, and of course the videos were elite! I am sure that the next crew that comes in will produce high quality videos for every win and heisman player we have. Had we lost 5 games this year, would any of us truly give a crap about highlight videos?
ETA: It's unfortunate we are losing them, but props to them for advancing their careers! They'll always have a place in the legendary season that was 2019!

For a major program, USC probably has the least amount of shadow staff and other marketing/digital personnel in the country.
It's like they missed the whole shadow staff phenomenon years ago. That's what has allowed Oregon to easily bypass them.
This is apparently an attempt to catch up to the big boys. I imagine they are also hiring shadow staff personnel as well.

Have the school contact WilliamTaylor21 and he'll get the Hype Videos made.

Wow,
That’s a huge loss. They made such a big impact for LSU. The social media presence was big for LSU.

don't either, but it is a weird move for USC. Not that these aren't great, but come on. its a highlight video. Its not revolutionary, and you gotta have someone at your school who can do that.
Having the idea to do it whats most important.
They are fixing to find out the meaning of the old saying "make a silk purse out of a sow's ear" means... I am sure they will have some material to work with but LSU was a target rich environment. One thing is for sure they should have some celebs to pick from to narrate!

Next up.
Having a dynamic team, great coach, perfect season, Tiger Stadium as a backdrop and star-power all over the field makes creating these productions easy. They’ll be easily replaced by another creative videographer.

Steven Speilberg is an USC alum....maybe he made a recruiting call

No doubt the location is better of they are looking to move up in video editing, but don’t discount the cash. Probably a pretty good package to make the move. With them well.
