At this point I don’t see how you can say Clemson has a path since they have the worst schedule and record to go forward. I would think they would be left out if LSU won out.

USC has a strong schedule going forward. TCU’s schedule is weak, but they are undefeated. I don’t think they will put in two Big 10 teams unless there are a bunch of losses.

LSU should be 5 with a match-up with the #1 team. The easier solution is to say UGA has to win out to get in also and all the confusion goes away. Make it a requirement a conference championship.

If one SEC team gets into the playoff would it be a one loss UGA team or a two loss SEC champion LSU team???? This scenario might play out

If LSU and USC win out, I think Georgia is out. Otherwise, what’s the point of conferences and conference championships existing. LSU vs. Georgia in the SEC Championship IS a playoff game. It’s stupid to put two teams who just played each other into the playoff.

We beat Bama...who would beat USC or UCLA. I get they only have 1 loss but let's not act like we haven't played a better schedule.

We also loss to FSU.

So a ranked team got a tune up game before another team’s first game of the season and still barely won. That is just stupid logic to hold that against a team.

I am still extremely mad at the administration for scheduling it that way.

Why we need last night's SC team to show against Clumpsin.

CFP desperately wants a team from the West Coast in the playoffs to maximize national interest.

I have been saying that. IMO, they want to expand the playoff to get more teams not from the SEC in the playoff.

But I think it will backfire. More SEC teams will get in and you will have more SEC vs SEC in the NCG.

There are so many nightmare scenarios for LSU. They most certainly do not control their own destiny

TCU wins out
USC wins out, and are 2 points away from an undefeated season
Clemson wins out, is 1-loss ACC champ with LSU having an ACC loss to a lesser team
OSU and Mich go to multiple overtimes, until one finally prevails, both get in
LSU and UGA go to multiple overtimes, and defending champ 1-loss, Tenn destroyer UGA gets in

f LSU wins out they will not make the CFP. They just won’t. It’s been proven already with Penn St not getting in after winning the Big.

Not true. Penn St wasn't the SEC champs. LSU's resume is too good if they win out. If they win, they're in.

UCLA is not that good. They lost to 4-7 AZ last week and will be ranked lower than FSU with the new rankings.

UGA looked very average winning 16-6 over a KY team that lost to Vandy.
TCU beat a Baylor team on a last second FG that got crushed the week before.
Michigan also won on a final FG after trailing most of the game.
Ohio St beat Maryland but didn't exactly blow them away

I think it's still likely that if we win we're in, but right now no team looks to be running away with the CFP spot.

Say we’re #6 going to the SECCG, UGA is #1, the last game the committee sees is #6 beating the #1 team in the country and we don’t move up? I call BS, the SEC Champ WILL be in the playoffs, bookmark it.

If Ohio State loses closely to Michigan, l think they could also be a problem. Assuming everyone wins out, you’ll have:

Undefeated TCU (Big 12 champ)
Undefeated Michigan (Big 10 champ)

Plus 2 of the following 4…

1-loss UGA
OR
1-loss Ohio State
OR
2-loss SEC Champion
OR
1-loss PAC 12 Champion

I can see any 2 of these 4 being awarded.

I said this last night and I'll say again.

If the CFPC wanted USC to jump us, they would have done it last week. They aren't going to this week.

Going to be really sweet when Brian Kelly's old team knocks out Clemson and USC thus allowing Brian Kelly's new team to make it into the playoffs with 2 losses

Would have liked for both UM and TCU to miss final play field goals yesterday. That would have set in place the possibility for both to be two loss teams.

The possibility of this died last night when UNC lost at home to 5-6 Georgia Tech.
